3 Since 1974 the Baleno brand has become known and loved for its waterproof garments. We have grown our business on our well known Flexothane fabric which was invented by Mr Sioen, founder of the Sioen company. Now Sioen employs over people and has 34 plants in 14 different countries. Our Flexothane fabric is still being produced in Belgium today and has become an epitome for waterproof garments which can be found all over the world. 3 The farming community around the town of Ardooie, where we still have our HQ, were the first to pick up on this marvellous fabric back in the 1970's. The basic but practical styling still fulfils the needs of the hard working and demanding outdoor people who need stretchable and lightweight garments to keep them dry all day long. More recently, the more economical Nylide: range was added to our collection to give you a wider choice in your search for the best waterproof solution. The Baleno Team

36 FLEXOTHANE RANGE Flexothane is a technical fabric that offers you excellent protection. The polyurethane coating on a stretchable knitted base makes Flexothane water and windproof, comfortable, noiseless, 150% stretchable, supple, highly tear resistant and machine washable. Flexothane Classic 36 Flexothane Classic uses polyamide fibres for its knitted base instead of polyester fibres. Polyamide fibres are exceptionally strong and resistant, making our Flexothane Classic an extremely durable fabric. It has extended resistance against hydrolysis which results in a longer life time of your garment. Thus offering higher value for money. Flexothane Classic is a one-sided PU coating on a polyamide knitting.

Consequently when disposing of Flexothane after use, harmful substances are not released into the environment.

Every single garment of this range, uses PVC Nylon which meets high standards in terms of tear strength, abrasion, suppleness, washability and durability. This strong fabric has been designed to resist variations of temperature, as well as oil and grease. Essential to the waterproof, wind- and cold resistant performance of our Nylide: outerwear, every detail of design and finish has been studied and tested extensively. Nylide: garments from Baleno are taped ensuring maximum waterproofness. Depending on how tough the Fabric needs to be, this vigorous rubbing can continue non-stop for hours... or even days. 52 Crumple flex test Determination of repeated flexing resistance of waterproof material (EN ISO 7854:1997 method C). Waterproof material used in rain garments (EN 343) must withstand 9000 cycles of repeated flexing without losing its waterproofness. This test is also a method to evaluate/compare different waterproof materials. Hydrostatic pressure test Determination of resistance to water penetration. The standard specifies a hydrostatic pressure method for determining the resistance of Fabrics to penetration by water. The highest class of water penetration resistance in this European Standard was deduced from several national norms which imposed a test pressure of 0.13 bar (1300 mm).
