Based on practical examples, the interactive discussion will showcase the different ways through which regulators in different countries can formalize their collaboration to enable digital cross-border remittances. Examples such as Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Letter of no objection, open regulation with cross border provisions, etc. should be showcased. 1

The role of the financial regulators will be highlighted since it is crucial in creating conducive regulatory environment that really foster practical interoperability and not only interconnection. The session intends to address questions like: Should interoperability be mandated or should it be market driven? What challenges regulators face when dealing with interoperable schemes?
