Approval of Minutes After reviewing the minutes, Executive Vice President (EVP) Romel Lopez asked for a motion to approve the minutes. Respiratory Therapy Club moved to approve the minutes. Administration of Justice (AJ) seconded. IV. Officer Reports (3 MINUTES PER SPEAKER) A. The EVP Lopez reported that he went to the BAC meeting. During his report, some of the clubs raised questions about funding for the conferences; EVP Lopez explained that conferences usually required matchfunding. He also explained that Student Representation Fee could be used for political conferences and that competitions are fully funded as long as the budget allows it. He also announced that the ASU Scholarship deadline was on November 10, Monday, at 4 pm. B. The ICC Vice Chairperson position was vacant and therefore, no report was given. C. The Chief Delegate Ji In Kit Lee announced that new clubs needed to come after the meeting and let her know the club s meeting dates and times because she records the minutes. She also explained that if any club wanted to add anything they reported orally, onto the minutes, to her and if a club wanted to get on the ICC agenda, they need to her at least 4 days ahead of the next meeting date. V. Public Forum (3 MINUTES PER SPEAKER) Psychology Club announced that this meeting was their first ICC meeting that they attended. Page 3 of 5

4 ELAC Speech Team asked what public forum was and what it was for, to which EVP Lopez replied that it was a time where anybody from the public could speak for the allotted time of three minutes. VI. Presentations (10 MINUTES PER PRESENTER) A. Announcement EVP Lopez s first announcement was the fact that the graduation committee was looking for students to nominate a commencement speaker. He also mentioned that Cove California was looking for workers and to talk to him after the meeting to get more information. Lastly, EVP Lopez talked about donating clothes to the Epilepsy Foundation, starting next week until December 10 th, to fund research for seizures related to epilepsy. He mentioned that clothes could be dropped off to the ASU office. VII. Discussion Items (5 MINUTES PER ITEM) A. Reminders for Clubs: Chief Delegate Lee brought reminders from Magaly, the Student Services Aide, who wanted to convey to the clubs that they should not be selling drinks that comes in glass containers because of the safety hazard broken containers can pose. She also reminded clubs to be conscious of noise level while fundraising in front of H9, and if a club wants to play music, it can only play it from 12 to 1 pm, during College Hour. Also, if clubs are selling the same food, they must sell on the opposite sides of campus. Chief Delegate Lee also brought up that if clubs are selling food combos, they can sell same drinks. Finally, she touched on the fact that grills were no longer available for clubs to use due to the fact that clubs were not cleaning the grills after using them, which prompted questions from multiple clubs, including ELAC Technology and Logistics Club and Respiratory Therapy Club. ELAC Technology and Logistics Club expressed that it was unfair that clubs that were bringing back the grills cleanly were being punished by the clubs who did not follow the rules; ELAC Technology and Logistics Club s delegate s sentiment was agreed upon by other club delegates. During discussion, the time allotted had passed. GO ELA Club moved to extend discussion time by five minutes. ELAC Technology and Logistics Club seconded. EVP Lopez explained that beside the capacity issue, which prevented the ASU office from being able to thoroughly check which club was returning clean grills, the grills had broken down and were taken to Plant Facilities for restoration. ELAC Technology and Logistics Club recommended that when the grills are brought back from Plant Facilities for use, ASU should appoint one person from each club borrowing a grill to clean up duties. The delegate mentioned that it would be good to have a designated person in order to increase accountability. B. Nomination of ICC Vice Chairperson Reminding clubs that at the last meeting, the ICC Vice Chairperson position was vacant and needed to be filled according to the ICC Bylaws, EVP Lopez asked clubs whether they had a candidate in mind that they wanted to nominate. Chief Delegate Lee suggested that the ICC break for recess so that clubs could discuss this in length with other delegates. Page 4 of 5

5 Engineering Club moved to have a five minute recess. Chief Delegate Lee seconded. No opposition existed for this motion and the ICC recessed for a five-minute recess at 1:07 pm. The ICC returned at 1:12 pm. After recess, Connie Castelan is nominated by Psychology Club. The nomination is seconded by Respiratory Therapy Club. Janet Ortiz is nominated by CCM. The nomination is seconded by ELAC Technology and Logistics Club. Israel Beltran is nominated by ELAC Speech Team. The nomination is seconded by Art History Club. After nominations, each candidate gave a brief explanation on why she or he is a good candidate for the ICC Vice Chairperson position. VIII. Action Items (5 Minutes per item) A. ICC Vice Chairperson ELAC Technology and Logistics Club moved to entertain Action Item A: Voting the ICC Vice Chairperson. Art History Club seconded. A roll call vote took place. With a 25:2:9 vote, Connie Castelan won with a simple majority. Connie thanked the clubs who voted for her and said that she would get herself familiarized with her position. B. Use of ICC Funds Social Justice Club moved to entertain Action Item B: Voting on the Usage of ICC Funds. ELAC Speech Team seconded. After discussion, the general consensus was that the ICC wants to spend the ICC Funds to have food during the ICC meetings. Go ELA Club moved to create a food committee that the newly appointed Executive Vice Chairperson Connie Castelan will head as chair. AJ seconded. No oppositions existed to this motion and the food committee is created. Dream Weavers, ELAC Technology and Logistics Club, AFFF, Sociology Club, Feminist Majority Club, and CCM volunteered to be part of the food committee. IX. New Business/Unfinished Business (5 Minutes per item) No New or Unfinished Business Items to discuss X. Summary-Next Meeting: December 11 th, 12 pm XI. Adjournment Executive Vice President Lopez asked the delegates for a motion to adjourn the meeting. Performance East moved to adjourn the meeting at 1:33 pm. AJ seconded. Page 5 of 5
