2 2 1. Call To Order: 9:06 AM a. Roll Call to Establish Quorum b. Chairperson Welcome and Greetings Chairperson Nagtalon welcomes everyone, and states this is the second to last ICC meeting. Late Arrival: Palomar Information Security Club at 9:08 AM. 2. Public Communications: Speakers shall be limited to a total of two (2) minutes each. Ten (10) minutes shall be reserved at this time for members of the public to address the Council on matters within its jurisdiction, which do NOT appear on the Agenda. Please sign in before the meeting begins or let the Chair know you wish to speak. This is to address matters outside of club reports. 3. Old Business: a. None 4. Approval Of Minutes: Discussion/Action Item (5 min max) a. November 2nd, 2018 Motion: Move to approve the minutes of November 2nd, (Hikers and Backpackers/Anthropology Club/U/C) b. November 9th, 2018 Chairperson Nagtalon replaces she appoints with the ICC appoints in item 5a. Hikers and Backpackers changes December 8th to December 1st in their report. Motion: Move to approve the minutes of November 9th, 2018, with corrections. (Hikers and Backpackers/Anthropology Club/U/C) 5. New Business: a. Brainstorming Possible OSA Incentive Chairperson Nagtalon states this could allow clubs to receive funding more immediately. Vice Chairperson Keaty notes the OSA must use up some grant money, and is interested in distributing the funding to clubs in exchange for volunteer hours for the Food and Nutrition Center. The board needs to brainstorm how the clubs can participate. Late Arrival: Super Smash Club at 9:23 AM. Advisor Spence says Food and Nutrition Center is looking for donations of larger cooking items. As far as the money possibly available to clubs through volunteer hours, the amount available is around $25,000 but needs to be spent by March of next year. The incentive is likely to be carried on after March using a different grant. Sherry Titus is looking into a weekly farmers market on campus, and
3 3 would need volunteers for that. Alcohol and Drug Studies Club asks if the board could work with the Behavioral Health department for their events; Advisor Spence responds the money can only spend the grant on food and staffing, but collaborating with Behavioral Health is a good idea. Vice Chairperson Keaty asks if eight to ten hours a month would be a reasonable time requirement to receive funding. The board responds yes, that would be very reasonable. Advisor Spence notes that scheduling for the farmers market would be set, but is more flexible for making phone calls and picking up supplies. Vice Chairperson Keaty asks the board s opinion on individual clubs hosting food drives once a month. LDSSA responds that would be harder to maintain momentum with monthly drives, but two or three in the semester would be more manageable. Vice Chairperson Keaty says she will be taking these suggestions to Sherry Titus. b. November 30th Final Meeting Food Suggestions Chairperson Nagtalon asks what foods should be at the last ICC meeting. He is thinking of coffee, fruit, eggs, sausage, bacon, and potatoes. LDSSA suggests yogurt, Hikers and Backpackers suggests muffins and bagels and cream cheese, and Psi Beta Psychology Club suggests teas. Advisor Spence notes they are limited by the event s budget. Woodworkers of Palomar College suggests not having eggs at the breakfast. c. Preparing For Spring Semester Events Chairperson Nagtalon states the spring semester events calendar is not available online currently because it is being revised. Week of Welcome will be on it, and he will send an to interested clubs when more information is available. Umoja! asks when they can present their ideas for Black History Month; Chairperson Nagtalon replies they can at the next ICC meeting. Vice Chairperson Keaty says the other events are Club Rush, Diversity Day, Earth Day, and Spring Fest. 6. Point Allocations: a. Stock The Bank Vice Chairperson Keaty states the following clubs received the full 20 points: P&E, Hikers and Backpackers, Palomar Chemistry Club, GeoScience Connections, Palomar Tech Club, LDSSA, and Nutrition Club. Motion: Move to approve the points for Stock The Bank as stated. (Hikers and Backpackers/LDSSA/U/C) b. Diversity Day
4 4 Alcohol and Drug Studies Club states that Matt Baugh, the chairperson of Diversity Day, has not sent the attendance or points to them. Chairperson Nagtalon says the item will be postponed until the next meeting. c. Posters Chairperson Nagtalon states Philosophical Outsiders brought a poster for the meeting room. Motion: Move to approve ten points for Philosophical Outsiders for their poster. (Hikers and Backpackers/P&E/U/C) d.
