2 2 Who is CMG Guitars? CMG (Chris Mitchell Guitars) is not your typical guitar company. First of all, we re not a big corporate conglomerate that s distributed by another corporate conglomerate... We re one small company owned by me. Secondly, the guitar models are designed by me, drafted in CAD by our engineer Ty Riggs, built by our luthier Russell Jones, David Northrip, and James Horel. We all discuss our ideas and the advantages and disadvantages that a design may have. Then we build the product. It s that simple. We don t discuss it with a sales team or a committee. Each one of us is a guitarist and we want to make them the best that they can be. Sure, they look familiar we base many of our models on classic designs. We refine and tweak them until we get it just right. You ll see modern innovation with a respect to classic design in every CMG Guitar. We are utilizing CNC machines in our American guitar facility in Statesboro, GA. We design and build our guitars using computers to achieve the highest level of precision and consistency. Then we build and finish each one by hand. We re launching our company with state of the art technology while incorporating building techniques that are centuries old. We believe in a firm synthesis between tradition and innovation. A lot of people ask us why we name our guitars. It s simple. A guitar is a very personal thing to a guitarist. A lot of love, time and effort went into designing them, building them, setting them up, and making sure they were right. Anything with that much love put into it deserves to have a name instead of a model number. So we name them after people that we love. Ashlee is my wife. Diane was my mom. Wallace was my grandfather. We know you ll want to have a personal relationship with your guitar as well whether it s your first guitar or your tenth. Everybody has that one guitar that speaks to them in a way that no other guitar does. We hope that we can build that guitar for you. Our goals at CMG Guitars are simple: 1. Make a good quality instrument 2. Make them affordable 3. Make them in good conscience with respect for the world and the environment. Every once in a while a company will come along with a radical idea that they can actually change the world and make a difference. We re that company. Companies like this don t come around that often. I m humbled daily by the talent and passion that surrounds me at work. Not only does every person at CMG do their part, they go above and beyond the call of duty to deliver a product that a small company shouldn t be able to deliver. A seasoned pro will find that it s tone is elegant enough to carry around anywhere as a songwriting companion or travel guitar. Built to last, the laminate top is a perfect choice for beginning guitarists (and those who do a lot of traveling). Since this will be the first real instrument that many musicians will own, I decided to name this model Margaret after my grandmother. It will hopefully be your matriarch to a long line of Chris Mitchell Guitars! I want new players to have a good experience with the guitar. I don t want to build them a second rate instrument. A student s first experience with an instrument is the most important this is why I will accept nothing less than a quality guitar for their first.

It s for the performer that demands a workhorse guitar that delivers great tone and beauty in the same instrument. Wallace was my grandfather. And just like the guitar, he too had a smaller body. He was only 5 feet tall (on a good day). The Wallace features a solid spruce top with mahogany back and sides in a natural satin finish. 11 11 let betty bounce for you! Phosphor Bronze Outer Wrap Electrically Charged steel string core Nickel Outer Wrap High Tempered Swedish steel string core put the zing back in your string! Full Metal Jackets Bouncin Betty Full Metal Jackets are designed to bounce back after heavy bending. Full Metal Jackets utilize high-tempered Swedish steel; the most durable steel availible on planet earth. When stringing your guitar, tune it to full pitch and then try giving each of the strings about forty tugs at the 12th fret (stretching them about an inch off the fretboard). Pre-stretching will help your Bettys to bounce back in tune and retain their tone! Bombardiers Bouncin Betty Bombardiers are manufactured by dropping a payload of 1,000 volts of electric current through the string core; causing it to fuse with the phosphor bronze outer wrap. This method of production ensures that minimal dirt, oil, and residue reach the string core; providing longer string life, better intonation, and brilliant tone. By utilizing a phosphor bronze allow in the outer wrap, Bombardiers retain a traditional acoustic sound.
