1 100 Points I ll give you 100 Points if you Hit the Peacock!! Background: This game is adapted from the short story Feathers by Raymond Carver. In the story a couple navigates to a friend s house for dinner. Along the way they pass a plethora of objects and things, ending up in their friend s driveway face to face with a peacock. As an adolescent and young adult I have often joked with my friends that they could get points for hitting certain objects or animals/humans. Thus the idea behind my game. It is a free-for-all multiplayer board game based around the idea that you can get points for hitting things while you are driving. Doing so is taboo in society and I think it would be fun for people to act this out in a board game. Game Type/Genre: Board Game Adaptation from a Short Story Scenario: You and your coworkers decide to go out for a drink after work one day. You all head over to your vehicles but realize that there is an empty trashcan in the driveway blocking the exit. One of your coworkers says, I ll give you 10 points if you hit that with your car on the way out! It is on!!! Let s see who can hit the most things on their way to the bar.

2 Long Description: There are four coworkers driving from work to a bar a little ways from work. Their aim is to hit as many things as possible on their way there. However, this is not as easy as it sounds! You could miss things completely or even hit a pot hole! Beware of your coworkers as well because they could have it out for you and try hitting you! 3 The game board is simple. There are 5 lanes to the bar and in each lane there are a variety of obstacles. A player can hit an object, a pot hole, or run into a mystery spot where a variety of things could take place, hindering or helping you. Near the finish there is a set up of cups that are designated for certain objects. When you hit an object you throw a ball at these cups to determine what you hit. When you hit something you record it on your score sheet. Game Play/Rules: Starting the Game: There are 4 coworkers in cars driving to a bar competing to see who can hit the most things. Each player gets to move one spot a turn. The play order is determined by a shoot out at the beginning on the game. The player who gets an object with the most amount of points gets to go first. The mystery cup is higher in value then all the others when determining

4 play order. Players can start in any of the spots adjacent to the work area. Players can only move forward or horizontally, unless otherwise stated on a card. Hitting Objects: If you land on an object space, or a space with a large X on it, you get to shoot at the object (cup) triangle. You have to shoot from the opposite end of the game board but may bounce or deflect the ball off of the game board if you would like. You do not get any extra points for this. If you successfully get the ball into one of the object cups then you mark it off on your score sheet, which you tally up at the end of the game.

5 If you get your ball into the mystery cup you need to draw a card from the mystery deck and do as is stated. If you hit one of your opponents you gain 10 points and they lose 10 points, which is to be recorded on the game score cards. Winning/Ending Game: In order to win the game you have to be the player with the most points at the end. The game ends when one of the players reaches the end in the bar area. If you are the first player to reach this area you automatically get 30 extra points.
