6 Welcome We are very happy to present Ambus-3, the third generation of our Ambus product range. Ambus has always stood for high quality, wellpriced office furniture. Ambus-3 adds significant functional improvements, innovative new worktop shapes to cater for new ways of working, and a much expanded choice of finishes. All this whilst maximising backwards compatibility with previous generations of Ambus. Ambus-3 is available in both MFC (melamine) and veneer finishes, and in combinations of veneer tops/drawer fronts/doors with slate or zinc MFC vertical panels. Desks are offered with panel ends or on metal frames. The enormous range of possible variations this allows enables Ambus-3 to be specified to suit office interiors of all types. 6

35 Wire Management Panel end wire management All desktops are fitted with cable access ports as standard. Wire management is accessed from the user side of the desk so cables can Panel end Desking be added or removed easily even if a desk is placed up against a wall or screen, or side-to-side against another desk. Flexible cable spine Panel end desks are op tion al ly avail a ble as wire managed, with vertical cable risers fitted to the inside of the panels (not visible from the outside of the desk). A further option for panel end desks are pass-through ports set in the end panels, enabling cables to be run be tween adjacent desks. Metal frame Desking Metal frame desks are wire man aged (fitted with vertical cable risers) as standard, and also as stand ard in cor po rate pass-through ports at the top of the frames. Optional Cable trays Both panel end and metal frame desks may optionally be fitted with cable trays, which fix to the inside of the backpanel and provide en hanced cable handling capabilities. Cable trays may be fitted with sockets for power, data and comms. Alternative wire management For situations where cables cannot be con ven ient ly rout ed through our in te gral vertical cable risers, we offer free-stand ing flexible cable spines that may be positioned wher ev er de sired. 37 Storage and fittings Hat & coat rail Ambus-3 offers storage units in five heights and two widths. Closures include double doors, glass doors, roll-out filing drawers, and both vertical and side tam bour doors. Internally, Ambus-3 storage units are all fitted with integral shelf tracking that accepts a wide range of fittings, including veneer, MFC and steel shelves, roll-out filing frames and refer ence shelves, lateral filing frames, pigeonhole units and wardrobe fittings. All fittings are available to suit both our 800mm and 1000mm wide storage units. MFC (melamine) and our hand-selected, crown cut veneers are both very durable finishes. Veneers are a more costly raw material than MFC and require a lengthy and skilled series of preparation and finishing proc ess es and therefore carry a price premium. MFC Finishes Wood grain MFC offers a realistic likeness of natural timber at an attractive cost. MFC provides consistency of colour and structure and a perfect colour match between panels. Veneer Finishes Bring greater individuality and warmth to each item of furniture. The beauty of the natural variations in hue, grain and figure make each piece unique. Our veneer/mfc combination finishes combine much of the visual appeal and warmth of veneer with the cost savings of MFC. 43

46 Other Ranges From Sven Christiansen Modular Tables Flip Top Tables Tables with a Flip Top that may be easily released (without tools) and pivoted through 90 from horizontal to vertical. Tables may then be nested together, reducing the space needed for storage. Moving tables through doorways from room to room with flipped tops is simple and convenient, minimising the risk of knocks and damage to both tables and doorways. Sectional Tables Tables in a variety of shapes and sizes, on removable legs, fixed or mobile frames, which may be used individually or linked together to form larger configurations. Versions with removable legs may be stored and moved on a mobile trolley. Folding Tables Rectangular and trapezoidal folding tables that fold completely flat to minimise storage space when not in use. A linked D-end with folding support leg is also offered. Folding is simple, carried out with the tables upright, and requires no tools. Tables may be carried individually or stacked on a mobile trolley for easy relocation. 46

47 About Ambus-3 Installation Ambus-3 storage units* and pedestals are supplied assembled. Desks and most other items are supplied flat packed for assembly on site. (*some large storage units may be delivered flat packed on request) Environmental policy Our selection of raw materials and our manufacturing processes are under constant review to ensure that we are operating in a manner that is environmentally responsible. Wherever possible we use materials from renewable resources and avoid the use of substances that are potentially toxic or harmful. Waste timber resulting from manufacture is used to heat our factory and recycled materials are used wherever practical. Guarantee Ambus-3 furniture is guaranteed for a period of five years against any defect resulting from faulty materials or workmanship (three years in the case of moving parts). Maintenance Ambus-3 requires no maintenance and cleaning should be carried out solely with a damp cloth and soft duster. Spray polishes must not be used. Important note about veneers Ambus-3 is available in Light Oak, Steamed Beech, American Walnut, Rose Walnut, Maple and Cherry veneers. We use crown cut wood veneers whose varying grain and figure emphasise the natural beauty and individuality of the wood. No two pieces of crown cut timber are identical, and there will be natural variations in hue, grain and figure, and both knots and colouring arising from natural minerals in the wood. None of these variations or features are faults: they are simply proof of the natural origin of the product. Please note that most veneers either lighten or darken on exposure to light. Should you add additional items at a later date, there may be an initial colour mismatch that should even out over a period of time.
