1 An analytical study: The recent trend using the Cloud Computing Libraries with relationship between Science and Engineering Faculty Members in Chennai City. Abstract A. Kumar M.A., M.L.I.Sc., M.Phil., (Ph.D) Senior Executive Resource centre in Great Lakes Institute of Management The researcher aim and objectives the recent development of cloud computing technology knowledge resources in field library and information science, retrieval, updating and obtaining known or unknown the faculty members. The measurement and assessment of to use the statistical tools, the help of the SPSS package, Likert five point scale. Such as the minimum cost, accessible anytime anywhere and as well as the flexibility and elasticity. The end results and findings the researcher infer that the faculty members 152 (43.40) percent of Very Satisfied, 137 (39.10) percent. Keywords: Cloud computing, (SaaS), (PaaS), (IaaS), cloud library Introduction The recent scenario unavoidable the cloud computing network system. At present level the world running the revolutionary computer networks systems and one important the cloud computing is a completely new technology adopted in all area to cover in the society. As a human well-being awareness very rapid changes in the knowledge society for example, the smartphone, tablet phone, laptop etc. That have using a via network systems, for enabling convenient, on demand for network and sharing or transferring of knowledge for information such as services, storages of information, application of information etc. even though the massive advantage of the users. Cloud computing is a shared resource system that can offer a variety of online services such as virtual server storage, and applications and licensing for desktop applications. By leveraging common resources, cloud computing is able to achieve expansion and provide volume 1. However, even though the fact that cloud computing offers huge opportunity to the information International Journal of Next Generation Library and Technologies (ISSN ) Page 1

2 technology industry in the country, currently the development of cloud computing technology at its beginning. The aim and objectives of this paper discussed is to make available a better improved understanding of the design challenges of cloud computing, moreover aware of cloud computing technology in the faculty members. Characteristics of Cloud Computing That cloud computing is one of the distributed systems that represents a sophisticated model. NIST has identified important aspects of the cloud. On-demand self-service: Cloud services provide computer resources such as storage and processing as needed and without any human intervention. Broad network access: cloud computing resources are accessible over the network, mobile and smart devices even sensors can access computing resources on the cloud. Resource Pooling: Cloud platform users share a vast array of computing resources; users can determine the nature of resources and the geographic location they prefer but cannot determine the exact physical location of these resources. Rapid Elasticity : Resources from storage media, network, processing units and applications are always available and can be increased or decreased in an almost instantaneous fashion, allowing for high scalability to ensure optimal use of resources. Measured service: Cloud systems can measure the processes and consumption of resources as well as surveillance, control and reporting in a completely transparent manner. Purpose and Scope Cloud computing is an evolving paradigm. The NIST definition characterizes important aspects of cloud computing and is intended to serve as a means for broad comparisons of cloud services and deployment strategies, and to provide a baseline for discussion from what is cloud computing to how to best use cloud computing. 3 Service Models: Software as a Service (SaaS). The capability provided to the consumer is to use the provider s applications running on a cloud infrastructure. Such as a web browser (e.g., web-based ), or a program interface. Platform as a Service (PaaS). The capability provided to the consumer is to deploy onto the cloud infrastructure consumer-created or acquired applications created using programming. Typically this is done on a pay-per-use or charge-per-use basis. A cloud infrastructure is the collection of hardware and software that enables the five essential characteristics of cloud computing. The physical layer consists of the hardware resources that are necessary to support the cloud services being provided. Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). The capability provided to the consumer is to provision processing, storage, networks, and other fundamental computing resources where the consumer is able to deploy and run arbitrary software, which can include operating systems and applications. Possibly limited control of select networking components (e.g., host firewalls). Deployment Models Private cloud: The cloud infrastructure is provisioned for exclusive use by a single organization comprising multiple consumers (e.g., business units). Community cloud: The cloud infrastructure is provisioned for exclusive use by a specific community of consumers from organizations that have shared concerns (e.g., mission, security requirements, policy, and compliance considerations). Public cloud: The cloud infrastructure is provisioned for open use by the general public. It may be owned, managed, and operated by a business, academic, or government organization, or some combination of them. Hybrid cloud: The cloud infrastructure is a composition of two or more distinct cloud infrastructures (private, community, or public) that remain unique entities, but are bound together by standardized or International Journal of Next Generation Library and Technologies (ISSN ) Page 3

4 proprietary technology that enables data and application portability (e.g., cloud bursting for load balancing between clouds). Cloud computing working flow The back end is the "cloud" section of the system. On the back end there are various computers, servers and data storage systems that create the "cloud" of computing services. A central server administers the system, monitoring traffic and client demands to ensure everything runs smoothly. Nandkishor Gosavi, Seetal S. Shinde, and Bhagyashree Dhakulkar (2012). Review of literature Qi Zhang, Lu Cheng, Raouf Boutaba (2010), our work will provide a better understanding of the design challenges of cloud computing, and pave the way for further research in this area. Kaushik, A. & Kumar, A. (2013), the author describes that the libraries are heart-rending towards CCT in present time and taking advantages of CBS especially in building digital libraries, social networking system (SNS) and information communication Technology (ICT). Raghunadha Reddy.T (2012), digital libraries may soon cooperate in the building and management of data centers. The necessary the digital libraries express interest, the company such as Google, Amazon, Microsoft or another cloud vendor might create a digital library Cloud similar to Google s, Government Cloud. Raghunadha Reddy. T (2012), libraries have been adopting cloud-based solutions for different services including electronic journal access management, statistics tracking, digital library hosting, and even integrated library system (ILS) hosting. This hybrid model would let digital libraries maintain more control over the applications and data stores that contain sensitive, private information about patrons. Moreover, digital libraries can continually adjust and fine-tune the balance between the tight control of a private Information Technology infrastructure, and the flexibility and savings of cloud-hosted infrastructure.
