The Valve Automation Division is an integrated, single-source provider of valve automation solutions. Our actuators range from those weighing less than five pounds and designed to operate a 1/2-inch ball valve to those weighing more than five tons, stretching in excess of 20 feet in length and generating output torques in excess of six million lb-in. Our offering includes products operated by virtually every power source pneumatic, hydraulic, gas/hydraulic and electric. The actuators utilize a variety of configurations rack & pinion, scotchyoke, rotary vane, linear, and helical spline and come in spring-return or double acting models. Specialized products have been designed for operation in subsea environments, in arctic pipeline service and in elevated temperatures approaching 500 F. Our entire product offering is designed with customer requirements in mind. Several notable products exemplify this position. The new generation Bettis G- Series scotch-yoke actuator products were designed with modular components that allow minimal parts inventory. The product incorporates features for corrosion resistance, water ingress protection and wear retardation that cannot be found in any competitor s actuator. Our next generation pneumatic rack and pinion line exemplifies the ingenuity of the Valve Automation Division. This modular concept combines the actuator and controls such as positioner, solenoids and limit switches in an integrated package that dramatically reduces installation and commission time and costs. Our globally-recognized gas transmission valve automation expertise has been further enhanced by the innovative LineGuard TM. The self-contained system provides linebreak protection, data acquisition and supervisor control of pipeline valves from any remote locations worldwide. Special designs for compact subsea actuators developed by Dantorque and Shafer allow installation by Remote Operated Vehicles (ROV) and operation to depths to 10,000 feet below the ocean s surface. 5
