2 Quality and Impact 2018 (Kvalitet och Nytta KoN2018) The ultimate goal is to increase the quality of our research and thereby our possibilities to impact society with science-based knowledge.

3 KoN2018 current status and future aspirations of the UoA. Current status will be seen through scientific output and its impact on society in the most recent years, future aspirations and strategies to attain them are conveyed in the self assessment.

7 October 2017 Time line 25 October suggestions for expert reviewers to the panels Heads of Departments. 30 October Heads of Department to send list (in priority order) with suggested panel reviewers to November 2017 mid Nov. KoN2018 Steering Committee together with the Deans decide who will be asked to serve on the panels and who shall be asked to chair each panel. early - mid November Self-assessment templates are distributed to UoA. 8 January 2018 Bibliometric data and analyses as well as external funding data are made available to UoAs. January February The digital platform to enter self-assessments will be opened for the coordinators of the UoA.

8 Time line March 2018 Panel expert reviewers receive all information about their UoAs (selfassessments, bibliometrics, funding profiles). Chairpersons from each panel are invited to Uppsala, to learn more about KoN2018 SLU and the Swedish education system. Week of 28 May 2018 Panel expert reviewers meet their UoAs at SLU. 1 June 2018 Strategy meeting with panels and University and Faculty Management Interdisciplinary aspects lifted here

9 Expert panels - up to 10 persons scientific quality, impact of research and capacity for collaboration with society

10 Criteria for suggesting reviewers: Scientfic quality integrity, highly regarded, high outside Sweden Impact stakeholders of all kinds, industry, governmental agencies, etc Swedish or external (ie forest industry, Jordbruksverket, Naturvårdsverket, Hushållningssällskap) Collaboration with society experience in assessing collaboration with society Swedish or external Conflict of interest: OK some joint publications but not excessive, no on-going projects or joint applications, no PhD-supervisor history
