Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites accidents. 4. Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury. 5. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations. 6. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts. 7. If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards. 3

Power tool use and care 8. Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed. 9. Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired. 0. Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.. Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.. Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool s operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools. 3. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control. 4. Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation. Service 5. Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained. 6. Follow instruction for lubricating and changing accessories. 7. Keep handles dry, clean and free from oil and grease. GEB00-6 DRILL SAFETY WARNINGS. Hold power tool by insulated gripping surfaces, when performing an operation where the cutting accessory may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION Always be sure that the tool is switched off and unplugged before adjusting or checking function on the tool. Switch action 0030 Before plugging in the tool, always check to see that the switch trigger actuates properly and returns to the "OFF" position when released. To start the tool, simply pull the switch trigger. Tool speed is increased by increasing pressure on the switch trigger. Release the switch trigger to stop.. Switch trigger 4

Reversing switch action Use of it without angle attachment A. Reversing switch lever B 00309 This tool has a reversing switch to change the rotational direction. Move the reversing switch lever to the "A" side for clockwise (forward) rotation or the "B" side for counterclockwise (reverse) rotation. Always check the rotational direction before operation. Use the reversing switch only after the tool comes to a complete stop. It will damage the tool to change the rotational direction before the tool stops. ASSEMBLY Always be sure that the tool is switched off and unplugged before carrying out any work on the tool. Installing side grip (auxiliary handle) Always use the side grip and hold it with both hands to ensure operating safety. Use of it with angle attachment 00465 Screw the side grip on the tool barrel securely. The side grip can be installed on either side of the tool, whichever is convenient. Installing or removing angle attachment HIGH LOW HIGH LOW. High. Low 004655 The angle head has a spindle on each end. For higher speed operation, attach the drill chuck to the end marked "HIGH". The higher speed is better suited for drilling smaller diameter holes. For lower speed operation, attach the drill chuck to the end marked "LOW". The lower speed is best utilized for drilling larger diameter holes. The tool is factory assembled with the chuck on spindle end marked "HIGH". To change to the "LOW" speed, proceed as follows: To remove the drill chuck, first open the chuck jaws completely and place the chuck key in one of the key holes.. Chuck key. Drill chuck 00465 Screw the side grip for the angle attachment on the angle housing. Then tighten the side grip by turning clockwise at the desired position. 004656 Remove the chuck remaining bolt through the chuck opening by turning it counterclockwise with the hex wrench. 5

. Hex wrench. Loosen Be sure to tighten the two bolts firmly, or it may present a risk of injury to persons. Slide the drill chuck to the spindle so that the two faces are fitted perfectly. Holding the drill chuck with the chuck key, tighten the bolt (for installing the drill chuck) clockwise with the hex wrench firmly. 004657 The drill chuck and the bolt are assembled each other. Turn the bolt counterclockwise about 0 times so that they can be removed together. Loosen the bolts of the joint by the hex wrench and remove the angle housing, the joint and the socket. 3. Tighten 4 4 3 003069 To install the socket and the joint, fit the socket to the spindle so that the two faces are fitted perfectly. Then install the joint. For higher speed operation, fit the angle housing marked "LOW" to the joint. For lower speed operation, fit the angle housing marked "HIGH" to the joint. 3 4 5 6 7 For higher speed operation. And retighten the another bolt firmly again. 004659 The tool may be converted to a conventional straight drive drill by installing the drill chuck without the angle attachment. 004660 Installing or removing drill bit 3. Drill chuck. Spindle. Drill chuck. Tighten 3. Chuck key 00307 00466 To install the bit, place it in the chuck as far as it will go. Tighten the chuck by hand. Place the chuck key in each of the three holes and tighten clockwise. Be sure to tighten all three chuck holes evenly. 6

To remove the bit, turn the chuck key counterclockwise in just one hole, then loosen the chuck by hand. After using the chuck key, be sure to return to the original position. OPERATION Holding tool When drilling a large hole with a hole saw, etc., the side grip (auxiliary handle) should be used as a brace to maintain safe control of the tool. Drilling operation Drilling in wood When drilling in wood, the best results are obtained with wood drills equipped with a guide screw. The guide screw makes drilling easier by pulling the bit into the workpiece. Drilling in metal To prevent the bit from slipping when starting a hole, make an indentation with a center-punch and hammer at the point to be drilled. Place the point of the bit in the indentation and start drilling. Use a cutting lubricant when drilling metals. The exceptions are iron and brass which should be drilled dry. Pressing excessively on the tool will not speed up the drilling. In fact, this excessive pressure will only serve to damage the tip of your bit, decrease the tool performance and shorten the service life of the tool. There is a tremendous twisting force exerted on the tool/bit at the time of hole breakthrough. Hold the tool firmly and exert care when the bit begins to break through the workpiece. A stuck bit can be removed simply by setting the reversing switch to reverse rotation in order to back out. However, the tool may back out abruptly if you do not hold it firmly. Always secure small workpieces in a vise or similar hold-down device. Avoid drilling in material that you suspect contains hidden nails or other things that may cause the bit to bind or break. MAINTENANCE Always be sure that the tool is switched off and unplugged before attempting to perform inspection or maintenance. Never use gasoline, benzine, thinner, alcohol or the like. Discoloration, deformation or cracks may result. Replacing carbon brushes 0045 Remove and check the carbon brushes regularly. Replace when they wear down to the limit mark. Keep the carbon brushes clean and free to slip in the holders. Both carbon brushes should be replaced at the same time. Use only identical carbon brushes.
