NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER 5 PM. JUDGING TIME: Tuesday, August 28 th, at 9 a.m. Doors will be closed while judging in this department. RELEASE: Tuesday, Sept. 4 th, 12 pm until 7 p.m. ENTRIES MUST BE PICKED UP ON RELEASE DAY. If unable to pick up, please make arrangements for someone to pick them up. Any entries not picked up by this time will be sent to the Livestock Office. You will be contacted one time to retrieve them, if you do not come to get them, the entries will become the property of the Twin Falls County Fair. PROFESSIONAL ENTRY FEE: An entry fee of $8.00 per item will be charged only to entries in the Professional Class. CLASS DESCRIPTIONS: Professionals are people who produce work on a professional level, or those who wish to challenge themselves. Intermediate class is for people who have an advanced knowledge of photography. Novice class is for people who produce work for their own pleasure or those who are students or beginners. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Exhibitors should be 16 years or older to enter; otherwise exhibitors should enter in the youth department. Limit of two (2) photographs per lot for Novice and Intermediate per class. Total limit of entries is 8 per individual. Professionals are allowed a maximum of 6 images. Photographs may be entered in this Fair only one time. You are allowed to enter in one Class only, Novice, Intermediate or Professional. Once you move up a Class, you may not go back to a previous Class. As a Professional, knowingly entering a lower class will result in disqualification of entrant for the current year. SIZE AND MOUNTING: Photographs must be mounted on 2 ply thick matt board or 1/8 foam core, not to exceed 16 x 20 inches and displayed in a vertical or horizontal position. No photographs smaller than 8 X10 will be accepted for the exhibit. Entries over 3/16 thick will not be accepted, this includes the photograph, backing and matting. ALL PHOTOGRAPHS MUST BE MOUNTED AND WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED UNLESS MOUNTED. No framed photographs will be accepted for exhibit. The Superintendent will NOT accept any photographs entered in this department that proves to be inadequately mounted, as defined above. No metal or glass prints allowed. Entries not in compliance with guidelines will not be accepted. THE SUPERINTENDENT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO QUESTION ANY PHOTOGRAPHS BEING ENTERED. ONLY AFTER CONSULTATION WITH FAIR MANAGEMENT, CAN ANY PHOTOGRAPH BE DISQUALIFIED. This photo competition is open to Novice, Intermediate and Professionals. Photos must be entered in the name of the person who made the photograph, with the maker s name, address and phone number on the back of the image. No Photographs entered are allowed to have any form of identification; i.e. Title or Name, on the face of the photo. Additionally, there shall be no writing on the face of the image, unless it is in a composite class.. ADDITIONAL RULES: Exhibitors are requested to read carefully all rules listed here and also the General Rules of this Fair. Department Rules supersede General Rules. Exhibitor may not remove any photograph from the exhibit until the release date and time shown above. PROFESSIONALS: As per the Twin Falls County Fair policy exhibitors are not allowed to promote or advertise a business, sell photographs, distribute posters, handbills and any other advertising materials except from a paid vendor booth or as follows: Display space will be available See Class 10, Lot 1.

Class Numbers NOVICE COLOR CLASS 01 INTERMEDIATE COLOR CLASS 02 NOVICE BLACK & WHITE CLASS 03 INTERMEDIATE BLACK & WHITE CLASS 04 OPEN PROFESSIONAL JACKPOT SHOW This class is for those who produce work on a professional level, Or for those who wish to challenge themselves. BLACK & WHITE.CLASS 05 COLOR..CLASS 06 MENTALLY & PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED ADULTS Must be 16 years and older otherwise enter in the Youth Department. CLASS 07 This Class is limited to persons who are able to fully complete the project for the Lot unaided, except for the possibility of purchasing supplies; transportation or other requirement not directly related to completion of the project itself. CLASS 08 This Class is limited to persons who need occasional assistance in order to complete the project, not only purchasing supplies, transportation, etc., but for actual direction or assistance with the project itself. The project should, however, be the primary responsibility of the exhibitor. CLASS 09 This Class is limited to persons who need significant assistance with their project in order to complete them. This assistance would involve most or all phases of the project. The exhibitor would most likely not be able to complete the project without the assistance. OPEN PROFESSIONAL DIVISION DISPLAY SPACE - CLASS 10 LOT 01 Display space will be available, to Professionals for $50.00 to display their work, one space per Business or Photographer. The allotted space for the display is limited to 63 high and 24 wide. No glass of any kind or metal prints allowed. No photos in the Display can be placed on the floor. For the safety of your Photos they must be secured so they cannot fall off the wall. This space is separate from the ones entered for competition, and will be allowed to have business cards, or advertising materials with the photos. You can buy a space and also enter in the jackpot show. The date to set up your display is Tues, Aug 29 th from 1 to 6pm. Photos must stay up until Release Day, Sept. 4 th. FAIR PHOTO CONTEST Photograph your activities at the Fair! Email your photo entries daily to: twinfairphoto@gmail.com **By submitting your photo you do hereby give Twin Falls County Fair permission to use your photographs entered in the Fair Photo Contest for any and all advertising and publications.** The Contest runs for 4 days. Example: Aug. 29 th is the First day of taking pictures and Sept. 1 st is last day for taking pictures. Entries from Cell Phones, Point and Shoot, as well as Film and DSLR Cameras are welcome! Please make sure that your file names for your images are: RE-NAMED with the date, your name and a number before emailing entries in. Example: 8-29-2018 Jane Doe 01 (Limit 2 photos per Day) Photos must be submitted by 8 a.m. the following day to qualify for the competition. Example: Photo taken on Wednesday must be submitted by 8 a.m. Thursday. Photos must be taken at the fairgrounds during this year s fair. Entries will be displayed in the Photography Building on a television showing all the qualified entries. The Top Three Winners will be given a prize. Fair-Notes from a Photography Judge If you enter you re a winner! Consider this an opportunity to show your work. Don t be shy! Review your images and choose those you feel stand out carefully. Remember thousands of folks will be seeing your images. Look over the Fair Premium Book, read for understanding. If there is something you do not understand ask questions. Choose your images carefully- make sure they match the entry category entered. A Great Image entered in the wrong category does not do well! Check the technical quality of your image: Focus, camera movement, color, B/W, color balance, composition, etc. Follow the rules and any recommendations carefully. Start now and get your images ordered and entered on time. Have your image printed and mounted, do a professional job. Be careful when mounting your image, don t mess it up! Start the process now! CULTURAL AND PREMIUM RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. LIVESTOCK CASH PREMIUMS WILL BE PAID FROM 11 A.M. TO 7 P.M. IN THE LIVESTOCK OFFICE ONE DAY AFTER THE SHOW. PREMIUMS NOT PICKED UP BY MONDAY AT 7 P.M. WILL BE FORFEITED. NO CHECKS WILL BE MAILED. 2. EXCEPTION: DRAFT HORSE/MULE PREMIUMS MAY BE PICKED UP AT THE LIVESTOCK OFFICE BEGINNING SUNDAY THROUGH MONDAY FROM 10 A.M. TO 7 P.M. TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR PREMIUMS, ALL HORSES/MULES MUST BE ON GROUNDS FOR ENTIRE WEEK OF FAIR. EXHIBITORS LEAVING BEFORE RELEASE TIME WILL FORFEIT THEIR PREMIUMS. PARTICIPANTS OF WAGON DAYS MAY BE EXCUSED FOR SATURDAY ONLY, RETURN BY 9 A.M. SUNDAY, AND REMAIN UNTIL 6 P.M. MONDAY. 3. CULTURAL CASH PREMIUMS WILL BE PAID FROM 11 A.M. TO 7 P.M. IN THE LIVESTOCK OFFICE BEGINNING ON THURSDAY, Aug 30th, THROUGH MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 2018. PREMIUMS NOT PICKED UP BY 7:00 P.M. MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 3 rd WILL BE FORFEITED. NO CHECKS WILL BE MAILED. 4. Any discrepancy in premiums must be brought to the attentions of the Premiums Manager no later than September 3 rd. 5. Awards will be made according to the merits of the exhibit. If no competition exists or if an article is not worthy of 1 st premium, the judge may disqualify or award 2 nd, 3 rd, or 4 th premiums at his discretion. Only one of each placing in any one Lot will be awarded. 6. The possession of ribbons and premium cards does not entitle holder to premiums. The premiums on exhibits are paid only on the signed record returned to the Premiums Office by the Judge. Ribbons and cards must remain attached to exhibits while they are on display. 7. Disrespect Shown to any award, or to any Judge, by an exhibitor forfeits all awards made to the offending exhibitor. 8. COLORS-Blue denotes First Premium, Red - Second Premium, White Third Premium, Pink Forth Premium, Yellow Fifth Premium, Green Sixth Premium, Purple Reserve Champion, White and Purple Rosette Champion & Best of Lot. 9. Superintendents and Judges must sign and return to the Premiums Manager all award sheets and cards as soon as the judging in complete and awards are made. 10. Superintendents and Judges shall exercise great care that the awards are properly recorded, as ribbons, cards, etc., are valueless as evidence of premiums unless the Judge s signed report validates them. 11. Judges shall not enter items for judging in the Division they are associated with; they may however enter in other Divisions. 12. If for any reason there are not enough exhibitors in any one breed, or Lot, to make a competitive showing, then the exhibitor showing will be entitled to one cash premium in each Lot. The Judge will indicate the highest award eligible in the Lot according to the quality of the animal or exhibit. Competition must be between two or more animals, or exhibits, owned by separate exhibitors. Two or more exhibits giving the reason for the decision. 13. The Twin Falls County Fair & Rodeo will not be responsible in any way for any loss, damage or injury of any character to any property; article, animal or person while the same is on the Fair-grounds. Presentation of animals for exhibition shall be deemed acceptance of this rule. 14. No Alcohol will be allowed on the Twin Falls County Fairgrounds, except in designated areas. 15. Exhibitors are not allowed to promote or advertise a business, sell, post or distribute posters, handbills, and other advertising material is prohibited except from the paid booth of exhibitors or concessionaires. 16. THE SUPERINTENDENT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO QUALIFY ARTICLES BEING ENTERED WITH CONSULTATION OF FAIR MANGEMENT: Entries will be rejected if perceived to be objectionable or unfit for family viewing.
