IMPORTANT NOTES FOR INSTALLING YOUR BIG AIR TOWER The Ice Tower is designed to fit a hull between 62 and 103 wide. Please measure your intended mounting locations to make sure they fall within this range. ALWAYS apply a layer of grease to all bolt threads that have a nut attaching before attaching to the joining connection. (Note this does not apply to bolts threaded into aluminum.) Apply blue Loctite to all aluminum thread connections. To avoid galling or binding, apply a layer of grease on tubing before inserting into the top bar. We understand it is a bit messy, but it cleans up easily. If the hull is less than 3/8 thick in base mounting area then the hull will need to be reinforced. You may use marine grade plywood, aluminum sheeting, or a fiberglass kit. Contact us for a reinforcement kit. Never use the tower to pull tubes or inflatables. Read over the last page of the manual before drilling. Send us photos of your installed tower on the water and we will send you one free Big Air T-shirt. Call us toll free if you have any installation questions at 855-252- 5314.

Thank you for purchasing Big Air Pylon s Ice Tower. Installation of the tower is relatively simple and should take two people 2 to 4 hours. You will need someone to help you measure and assemble the tower. No special tools are needed other than those listed below. ASSEMBLY The first step is to decide where to locate your tower. The tower is designed to have a wide range stance from front to back of the boat. A minimum stance of 40 inches is required. Anywhere from 40 to 50 inches is optimal, but the tower stance can be extended wider if necessary. The width is made to vary to fit your boat from 62 to 103 inches. During installation, you should protect the installation area by covering the target areas in masking tape so as to protect the boat s gel coat finish. Laying out the tower on a tarp, blanket or carpet (to protect the tower from installation scratches) is also recommended. You can mount your tower anywhere along the boat s hull where there is access under the gunnel to install the backing hardware. Many people prefer to mount the front connections a few inches in front of the windshield. We recommend you evaluate what looks best for your boat and your style and where access makes installation possible. Also, make sure to consider where the tower will rest if you lay it down. Once you have established the mounting areas on your boat, place a base plate at one of the front mounting locations and use a pen or marker to mark through the holes on the base plate and onto your boat. These marks will be your drilling locations for the bolt holes. Now measure back at least 40 inches (but no greater than 60 inches) making sure to stay parallel with the boat trim line. Make the mark for the rear mounting location, once again using a base plate to mark this point. Now go to the opposite side of your boat and repeat this process. Measure both front holes from the front of the boat to make sure the mounting locations on both sides of the hull are in line. Before drilling holes in your boat, make sure where the holes will go can be accessed from inside the boat. This typically should not be a problem. If it is, then move the tower forwards or backwards as necessary. See our drilling guide at the end of these instructions. Drill a 9/16 hole for each mount. Make sure to run your bit in reverse. It s best to drill a 1/4 pilot hole first, then the 9/16 hole. If your hull is less than 3/8 thick, you will need to reinforce with additional aluminum, fiberglass, or marine grade plywood. Install the base bolt into the base using an allen wrench inserted into the end and secure tightly (use Loctite to secure) Secure the rear mounts using the hardware shown. We recommend using the rectangular plate for more interior hull support The circular backer plate is available if you have space limitations. (We recommend using flat aluminum plate and the circular plate together if possible.)

You can bend the plate with a hammer if needed to match the interior profile of your hull A flat gasket and a convex gasket are available. Use the one that best fits your hull profile. Grease the gasket faces to help them move freely against the base and boat faces. After mounts are fastened, assemble the front legs. Use two M10 x 35 bolts to fasten the lower front leg to the corner of the tower (apply blue Loctite to the bolt threads). Tighten bolt until snug. Do this for both front legs. Insert the leg ends into the legs of the tower using the 10mm socket head bolts (loc 19). Lightly tighten the bolt leaving the connection loose enough that it can still be turned by hand. Please note, you will likely need to rotate the leg end during installation. Each leg will need a leg end installed and the rear legs will need Sharpie Mark Set screw Apply blue locate to threads Leg end

Tower Structure Assembly Now you are ready to assemble the tower. Make sure that tower parts are laid out on a soft surface such as grass, so as not to scratch the tower. At this point, we recommend applying a layer of grease to the legs before inserting them into the top bar, to avoid any galling or binding. The longer legs of the tower go towards the front of the boat; the shorter legs toward the back. The final orientation of the tower should resemble the picture below. The tower can be flipped backwards if you prefer that style. Top Bar Attach the rear legs to the rear mounts using the rear leg connector bolts supplied and lay the rear legs back on the boat; you will attach them to the front legs later. Be sure to use a towel or some other soft material between the leg and the boat so that nothing is scratched. Rear Leg Front Leg Grease the ends of the front legs that will slide into the Top Bar with white lithium grease or a petroleum based lubricant. Front Leg End Slide the corners into the Top Bar. There may be some resistance when sliding the legs into the Top Bar. There are plastic sleeves in the Top Bar to help assist in sliding the leg in. Please use them to help prevent the tubes from sticking together. Slide the other front leg into the Top Bar. Lift the tower up above the boat and lower till the front legs are at the base mounts. Simply attach a swivel to the end of the front legs and to the base mounts with a shoulder bolt as shown in the photo. Swivel Base Mount

Have someone hold the front legs and Top Bar up while another attaches the rear legs to the tabs on the front legs and secures them with the 4cm shoulder bolt. For a more rigid tower we highly recommend that you pull the corners into the Top Bar with a ratchet strap. This helps preload the tower and offers more lateral rigidity. Tension on the strap as it pulls the corner into the top bar would be between 30 to 60 lbs. (read below first about centering the top bar) Rear leg connector bolt Center the Top Bar on the front legs. Measure from the edge of the Top Bar to the outer side of the corner of the leg to make sure the Top Bar is perfectly centered. Make sure the tow knob is completely upright. On the Top Bar, drill through each side using a 3/8 (10mm) drill bit through the pilot holes. Complete each finished hole by inserting a M10 x 80 bolt and securing a nylock to it. Note: lubricate the threads to prevent galling. Torque to 40 ft-lbs. With a sharpie marker make a line connecting the leg to the leg end. Remove the leg end from the base mount, keeping the two parts aligned by the mark, tighten the 10mm bolts connecting the leg ends to the legs (use blue Loctite) Check and tighten all bolted connections and set screws to make sure the tower is secure. The tower is now ready for use. (sharpie marks can be easily removed with alcohol or solvent) To lay the tower down: If the rear mounts are completely parallel: 1. Loosen the 10 mm bolts on the front legs and swivels to allow the tower to tilt back. 2. Unthread the 10mm bolts connecting the rear legs to the base mount on each side. 3. Lay the tower down. 4. Reassemble in the reverse order. Trouble Shooting: 1. Apply a thin layer of grease to all bolts to prevent galling. 2. Use mineral spirits to remove tape gunk after install. 3. If the rear legs rattle against the tab during use, loosen the set screws at the bottom of the rear leg and twist the rear leg outward until the top of the rear leg is very snug against the tab. Re-tighten all set screws. 4. If screws become loose, use a thread locker such as blue loctite on the threads to help prevent the bolts from vibrating loose. Important Points: 1. The tower is designed to pull only one wakeboarder at a time. 2. The tower should never be used to pull inflatables or a para-sail.

Drilling Fiberglass Drilling holes in fiberglass bodies and accessories can be very tricky business. If not done properly, you can chip off significant pieces of gel-coated surface or cause spider web cracks. Trying to cut through gel-coat with the shallow rake angle of a drill bit is what actually causes the chipping. The cutting edge quickly digs through the layer of gel-coat then lifts up. The obvious solution is to keep the drill's cutting edge away from the gel-coat. The following procedure will accomplish this objective. Step 1 Make a small indent in the surface where the hole is to be made. Use a very sharp scribe or ice pick. This will prevent the drill from wandering and damaging surrounding surfaces. Step 2 Drill the main hole (likely a 3/8 hole) with the drill running in reverse. Let the drill bit do all the work. The last and important step is to dress/grind the sharp edge of the hole exterior to prevent cracks in your gel coat. This can be done with a mounted grinding ball/stone. These can be purchased at any hardware stone and are used on the end of your drill to dress the hole edge.

Mast/Navigation Light Installation If you have purchased a Mast/Navigation light, the instructions below offer directions for installation. Included in the installation kit are: the Mast Light, light adapter plate and (2) 4mm screws. 1. Remove tow knob cap as shown in image below by simply inserting a screw driver into the side of the cap and rotating it counterclockwise. 2. Thread on light adapter plate. 3. Install 4 mm screws (as shown in image below) and use screwdriver to lightly tighten the adapter plate (making sure not to damage the screw threads). 4. Disassemble light by twisting black base counter clockwise from clear housing *Caution* bulb will become unsecured until reassembled 5. Attach the black light base using the 4mm screws. Thread the wires down into the cross member. 6. Place light bulb in the center of base. 7. The clear portion of the light has tabs that will lock it back in place. 8. Your light is now installed.
