WRIGHT arewell services for Henry Wright, a citizen of Waurkia for almost half a century were conducted riday afternoon, November 13, at 2:30 o'clock in the Waurika Church of Christ. Haskell England, minister, officiated and music was by the church choir. Interment was in the family plot of the Waurkia cemetery bearers being Charles Taber, Dallas Carter, Paul Ketchen, J.. Lewis, rank Brown and Sevier Evans. On arch 6, 1907, in Henrietta, Texas, he was married to rances Hopson of Ringgold, TX. The couple resided on a farm near Hastings until 1908 when they moved to Waurkia. He was employed on the farm by the late Kelly Brothers, who had large holdings here, for two years. Then for 24 years, he was machinist and boiler make for the Rock Island Railway company. Upon his retirement there he became custodian at the Waurika post office which position he kept until six weeks ago, always making a living for his family by the labor of his hands. Ill health forced his resignation from his last job. Converted early in life, Henry Wright lived his religion. Quietly he went about his every day tasks doing well whatsoever his hands found to do. He had a host of friends who are to miss his cheerfulness and the enjoyment he got out of every day living. But to his family, Henry Wright was a tower of strength on which each child drew heavily. Never heard to complain about how life was serving him, the children little knew how his own heart might be burdened, they only knew how much his counsel and guidance meant to them. As a family the Wrights were unusually close, bound together by deep ties of affection which perpetrated from the love their parents had for each other. They are finding it hard to travel life's highway without him these days. rs. Wright has to comfort her in her bereavement, four fine daughters and a son. They are rs. Doris Burger, rs. ern Clutz and rs. Audrey Wyley, all of Waurika; rs. Laudesella Park, Ringling. Her only son, Thelton (Son) Wright lives in Albuquerque, N.., but the girls are near enough to be with her at all times. There are also 14 grandchildren in the family and r. Wright was survived by a brother, Deck Wright, Bakersfield, Calif., and a sister, rs. Bill Tinsley, Hydro. 3 30 ar 2010 4:34 P
