However, the need to purchase a physical disk is still common, and is the preferred method of purchase for most consumers. BRIEF: In pairs, you are to design and create identical CD/DVD Racks (Hold approximately 0 DVD/Blu ray gaming cases). Per student, you will be supplied with: Combined total of 4m timber (90 x 19 Hoop Pine) or m (190x19) DELIVERABLES: One design folio (one between two students) PDF via HIVE Two identical DVD/Blu ray gaming Racks (one per student) ADDITIONAL TASK INFORMATION FOLIO REQUIREMENTS (one folio per group of ) Title Page Contents Page Project Introduction Clarify the intent of the project by explaining clearly what is to be constructed and why Project Management Action Time plan Project Research Joinery (Box pin joint, dovetail joint, biscuit joint, rebated butt joint, butt joint) Timber (Hoop Pine) Tools (router, tenon saw, chisel, mallet, disc sander, linisher, table saw) Abrasive paper (different types of abrasive paper to be used) Finishes (water based lacquer) Concept Development 4 x A4 Pages annotated concept sketches Final Drawing A4 orthogonal drawing of final product including dimensions Must be CAD drawings produced through Solid Edge.
