OGIC Project: Hydrasun Well Intervention Hose - Hydrasun are leading specialists in integrated fluid transfer, power and control solutions to the energy industry with a track record in flexible hoses, the focus of the project. - The challenge for Strathclyde involved destructive and fatigue testing of samples over a range of simulated operating conditions. - This allowed the qualification of a complex flexible composite product, which is a new technology for use in the oil and gas industry that enables significant cost savings over conventional systems - this innovative work has enabled Hydrasun to start early engagement with key customers Name, subject area etc.
OGIC Project: Blueshift Subsea pipeline flow assurance - Blueshift is a US-based corporation focused on the commercialisation of polymer aerogels for application in oil and gas and other industries. - The product is AeroZero, a polyimide aerogel that is more than 500 times stronger than conventional silica aerogels. This provides an insulation blanket for pipelines. - Strathclyde are focused on blanket design and validation using multi-disciplinary teams: composite design, composites engineering, Name, subject and area materials etc. science.
