Engineering 2013 Our engineers have a long history of design innovation that has led to a number of industry firsts in floating production and mooring systems. Our in-house knowledge and experience with these products have allowed our engineers to develop advanced procedures and techniques for analysis and design. The input from our extensive preconstruction and production operations ensures constructability and the operability of our products. SBM Offshore designs inherently safe products that meet our clients needs in a cost effective manner. Rather than focusing only on the initial costs of construction (ie CAPEX), assessing the performance of systems during their complete lifecycle allows us to deliver products that are optimised for total cost (ie CAPEX and OPEX), and consequently provide the best value to our clients. A key element in this approach is the feedback we receive on performance of our own fleet, which allows us to assess the impact of design choices on operational costs. The Drilling Riser Tripsaver is a winner of the 2013 OTC Spotlight on Technology Award. Using a rail-mounted transport system, which relocates a suspended drilling riser with a drilling riser tensioner system and surface blowout preventer in-place, the Drilling Riser TripSaver is an innovative apparatus and method for drilling multiple subsea wells consecutively, while saving time, money and reducing risk by avoiding removal of the suspended drilling riser from the well bay. Our engineers design and analyse our systems through all stages of projects from concept to delivery, and we have in-house capability for conceptual studies, basic design and detailed design. Our engineers work closely with Supply Chain Management, Construction and Installations to ensure that the hardware we supply meets all design requirements and fully satisfies our clients. We are proud to own hundreds of international patents for innovative technologies that have changed the way the oil and gas industry operates for the better. SBM Offshore Corporate Profile 5

Procurement Our supply chain is completely integrated with our global project teams around the world to ensure that we fully serve the needs of our clients. Given the growing complexity of our FPSOs to meet the market s evolving needs and our ever changing ways of doing business, our procurement team is focused on delivering consistent quality while continually concentrating on cost efficiency, business integrity and sustainability. SBM Offshore is also leading the trend in local procurement in our key markets. In fact, during the development of FPSO Cidade de Paraty, SBM Offshore achieved a level of local content surpassing 68%. To do so, SBM Offshore developed relationships with an extensive list of Brazilian subcontractors, resulting in a substantial amount of local contracts going to Brazilian suppliers and over 5 million local manhours logged on the project. For our Brazil-destined facilities, it s our strategy to prioritise the procurement of goods and services within Brazil in order to contribute to the expansion of domestic industries. By way of a joint venture with Naval Ventures Corp, the new Brasa yard will give SBM Offshore a competitive edge in terms of fulfilling our local content obligations in Brazil as well as managing our projects in a timely fashion; having direct control over the Brasa projects eliminates our reliance on the availability of other yards. In addition the shipyard s unique location in Rio de Janeiro at the heart of the Brazilian oil & gas industry, places us in an optimal position to cater to the rapid growth in offshore operations, while being in close proximity to our key clients. 6 SBM Offshore Corporate Profile

Construction It s a great source of pride for us to take our engineer s innovative designs many of which are industry firsts - and successfully manage the construction of ever more complex floating production facilities. SBM Offshore has managed the conversion and fabrication process for over 30 floating production facilities during the last thirty years. We have developed a key long-term partnership with shipyards in Singapore and Dubai and achieved tremendous results with the consistent delivery of a number of projects both on schedule and on budget, with a keen focus on safety. While we have very successful relationships with well-established yards, SBM Offshore also leads its competitors in its pursuit of construction partnerships in new areas. To maintain our competitive advantage and help further develop local industries, SBM Offshore has entered joint venture agreements to develop construction yards in both Angola (PAENAL yard) and Brazil (Brasa Yard) with local and international partners. Doing so gives us increased competitiveness to win local contracts and increased flexibility in project delivery. We continue seeking more time and cost efficient strategies to improve project delivery. Recently, we began our first FPSO conversion to be executed in China at the yards in Guangzhou. We have the ability to construct modules for conversions while the vessel continues to operate offshore, allowing the FPSO to remain productive right up until the upgraded topsides are ready for integration onto the vessel. SBM Offshore Corporate Profile 7

Installation SBM Offshore has carried out installation of floating production units for over three decades, from shallow to deep waters in West Africa, South East Asia, the Middle East, the Mediterranean Basin, South America, the North Sea & Canada. We provide full installation of FPSOs, FSOs and terminals using our own marine resources and tools. Our installation vessels can also be used to lay flexible flow-line or electric cables, to support shallow or deep water diving during construction, or used for removals, maintenance and towing. We currently operate the Normand Installer and a second Diving Support and Construction Vessel (DSCV), the SBM Installer is currently under construction and will be in action in Q4 2013. Our targets are to ensure offshore installation integrity and consistency and also to ensure that the design meets the safest and most efficient installation criteria. This is achieved by applying expert and wellengineered methods to minimise risks and to ensure optimised delivery in compliance with specifications and regulations. 8 SBM Offshore Corporate Profile

Operation SBM Offshore operates the largest worldwide fleet of floating production and storage units. Our fleet of 14 vessels spans the globe from the Gulf of Mexico, Brazil, the North Sea, West Africa and Southeast Asia. Over 235 years of cumulative operating experience allows SBM Offshore to continually improve our product offering; feedback from our day to day operations is integrated into the design of new FPSOs and mooring systems. This represents a unique competitive advantage for SBM Offshore where our participation in one part of the product lifecycle allows us to deliver superior results in another part of the product lifecycle. Over time, this constant feedback and client collaboration loop has resulted in strong performance results. Throughout last year, SBM achieved an average production uptime across the fleet of 99.1%. To date we have completed over 6,500 offloading procedures and produced over 3.9 billion barrels of oil equivalent. SBM Offshore Corporate Profile 9

Product Life Extension With 235 years of cumulative experience in international offshore operations across a variety of fields and a diversity of conditions, it s no surprise that SBM Offshore possesses a vast bank of knowledge concerning the effects of age on FPSO hulls, moorings and topsides. We use this knowledge to create solutions that effectively extend the operating life of our offshore assets for clients. Often fabricating modules for an upgrade can take place in the yard while the vessel continues to produce offshore. Vessel Refurbishment/Relocation SBM Offshore leads the way in FPSO refurbishment and relocation. In fact, we completed the industry s first FPSO relocation project 21 years ago, when SBM s FPSO II was relocated from the Cadlao field to the West Linapacan field, offshore Philippines. Since that time there has been a steady rise in the number and complexity of relocation projects being executed as clients explore fields in more remote and deeper waters, and SBM Offshore is at the forefront of this activity. Having worked on a range of FPSO relocations, we have a unique understanding of the key factors involved in this type of project, and of the skills and methodologies required. Our expertise allows us to assess the demands of relocation on the mooring system, production facilities and hull. Our engineering and project management expertise, combined with the in-house knowledge of the historical performance and workings of our FPSOs, allows us to quickly determine the suitability of an FPSO for relocation to a new field, to reliably determine the scope of work required, and to select the optimum execution strategy. Our execution strategies for relocation projects allow for very tight control over scheduling, which has allowed us to complete some relocations in as little as four months, even with topsides upgrades. This translates into lower costs and fast track uptime for clients. 10 SBM Offshore Corporate Profile

Services SBM Offshore takes pride in having a proactive relationship with our clients. We accompany them through the entire product lifecycle with the support of our After Sales services. When required, we can also provide rapid response solutions to address our client s urgent needs. These one-off, fast track interventions are naturally complemented by comprehensive IRM (inspection, repair and maintenance) programmes which we have been providing industry wide for many years. SBM Offshore Corporate Profile 11

Our products FPSO SBM Offshore positions itself at the top end of the FPSO market, focusing on the largest and most complex projects in this sector. For instance, we are currently developing four ultra-deepwater FPSO projects for production of the pre-salt fields in Brazil. These vessels are perfect examples of SBM Offshore s new league of FPSO, the Generation 3 with its major increase in size of topsides and machinery shaft power. The FPSO Cidade de Paraty is in the final stage of completion and she will be the largest vessel in SBM Offshore s fleet in terms of topsides complexity and throughput. When completed in Q2 2014 the FPSO Cidade de Ilhabela will surpass the Paraty in size. Currently our fleet of leased production vessels includes 12 FPSO and 2 FSO vessels in operation with five FPSOs under construction (of which four are for the same client). We also operate three clients FPSOs. Since our first FPSO project in 1976 for Shell, we have been involved in over 30 FPSO projects worldwide, accumulating two centuries of FPSO operating experience, more than any other FPSO operator worldwide. TLP & Semi-submersibles SBM Offshore provides leading Tension Leg Platform (TLP) and Semi-submersible solutions for offshore deepwater field developments. We hold the record for the deepest water depth semi-submersible Floating Production Unit (FPU), the Independence Hub, installed at a depth of 8,100 feet (2,469 metres). Our product line includes the TLP products SeaStar, FourStar and FourStar XC, and the semi-submersible products DeepDraft Semi and FourStar Semi. The TLP product line provides wet and dry tree solutions up to water depths of 5,000 to 6,000 feet (1,500 to 1,800 metres) for hurricane and non-hurricane environments. 12 SBM Offshore Corporate Profile

Our Products Turret Mooring Systems Thirty years ago, SBM Offshore pioneered the turret concept to moor vessel-based FPSOs. Since then we ve installed over 50 turrets around the world and we are the recognised leader in complex mooring systems. We supplied the internal turret mooring system, one of the highest capacity mooring systems ever built, for BP s Skarv FPSO in Norway. This unit was installed in 2011, but will soon be overtaken by an even larger capacity system, the Prelude FLNG turret for Shell, which SBM Offshore is currently fabricating. Many innovative initiatives are currently being developed as well as extensive testing and qualification of advanced fluid swivel and swivel sealing systems and mooring components representing significant advances for the industry. Terminals Since 1959, SBM Offshore has been involved in the supply of a great number of tanker loading and offloading mooring points. Over the years SBM Offshore supplied various types of mooring systems but the most common mooring point is the Catenary Anchor Leg Mooring (CALM) system. SBM Offshore has supplied well over 400 mooring terminals worldwide to date. We are the market leader in the supply of offloading terminals and remain the principle innovator in this market. SBM Offshore Corporate Profile 13

FLNG SBM Offshore has been pioneering the development of the FLNG (or LNG FPSO) for a number of years. This new technology is now gaining wide acceptance, and the first FLNG project was sanctioned in 2011. Building on our extensive experience in designing, executing and operating FPSOs, SBM Offshore has now developed a range of robust FLNG solutions, which allows clients to optimise their future requirements in the LNG market. Our mid-scale FLNG option converts LNG tankers into FLNG facilities in much the same way as we have successfully done for oil FPSO s. The advantage of this concept includes lower costs and a shorter schedule than a new-build. We have achieved an innovative and novel topside layout by joining together two Moss LNG carriers to form a patented twin hull. The concept provides an inherently safe, simple and robust solution for stranded gas fields with a capacity between 1 and 2 MTPA, using Linde Engineering s Nitrogen Expansion liquefaction technology and expertise. Our Technology At SBM Offshore, we are focused on continuously improving our products and developing new technology to meet the demands of the offshore industry. We lead our peers in R&D investment focused on ultra-deepwater production, particularly for the challenging fields of Brazil and West Africa, offshore LNG production and arctic technology. 14 SBM Offshore Corporate Profile
