Spring Bulletin April 2013 If God Ever Comes Back, He ll Come Back As a Group J.L.MORENO PSYCHODRAMA TRAINING GROUPS Istanbul Psychodrama Institute is reaching more students every year and training them to be the psychodramatists of future. Started on October, 3 new preparation groups are opened with the leadership of two separate leaders and continued to basic level groups with dedicated students. There are currently 5 ongoing basic levels and 1 ongoing upper level group under the roof of IPI and total 175 students are trained for psychodrama. PSYCHODRAMA WORKSHOPS FOR PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING and PSYCHOLOGY STUDENTS Psychological Counseling and Psychology Students Open Workshop Many new students whom dealing with uncertainty of post-graduation field selection and methodology are joining our institute followed by the establishment of new universities and new psychology and psychological counseling departments,. IPI has arranged free of charge open workshops to introduce psychodrama to students and started 2 groups of 30 people each due to heavy demand. Interested students achieved the chance to continue the workshop. while longer. Psychological Counseling and Psychology Students Psychodrama Group Istanbul Psychodrama Institute is arranging 10 week student groups to introduce psychodramatic methods to the field students since approximately 4 years. Due to heavy applications after the termination of 10 week student groups, 2 more student groups are opened in February and March one after another. Groups are currently continued in weekly basis.
CORPORATE TRAININGS and COUNSELING Our institute continued to organize enjoying workshops with experiential psychodrama techniques to prevent various problems occurred in companies. Communication problems, leadership, team play, creativity and motivation themes can be tailored to the companies with suitable psychodrama and sociodrama workshops. The cause of misery is that either a person cannot find a space for movement, or he cannot create a space for movement. Deniz ALTINAY SCHOOL EDUCATION and COUNSELING This year, Istanbul Psychodrama Institute continued to school education which was running under the supervision of Deniz Altınay since 20 years. According to school needs; various workshops are given. Such as educational programs with psychodrama and soicodrama techniques, intercommunication of educationalists, problem solving strategies between the student and educationalists, coping strategies for students against examination anxiety, efficient study techniques TRAINING SEMINARS for PSYCHODRAMATISTS and PSYCHODRAMATIST CANDIDATES Various seminars organized in our institute gives the opportunity to psychodramatists and psychodramatist candidates to get educated on more specific fields. Child Psychodrama education started for the first time in our country by Deniz Altınay, Individual Psychodrama and Mother-Baby-Father Psychodrama by Nese Karabekir and also Family Tree and Psychodrama education for out of field people are some of the educations organized this year.
EDUCATIONS and SUPERVISIONS for IN-HOUSE SPECIALISTS IPI is arranging educations and supervisions for in-house specialists and carry on its service on expending programs. Tangodrama is a new couple therapy technique applies dance therapy and psychodrama together. Tangodrama is discovered by Deniz Altınay for the first time in the field. Starting with walking together metaphor, tangodrama allows couples to realize and solve their problems by having fun together. Tangodrama Tangodrama couple therapy applications will be available soon by the IPI specialists whom supervised by Deniz Altınay. Efficient Study Groups; Efficient study groups are the groups considering personal differences of children and create the most suitable program. Another sub-purpose of the group is to correct the common child communication problems and transfer the study responsibility from parents to children. Efficient study groups are children and adolescents. continued for CHILD PSYCHODRAMA GROUPS Child psychodrama group is a method developing children with their natural part games, increasing role repertoire, communication and empathy skills, at the same time evaluating and curing the specific problems with underlying causes. Our institute gave a wide place to increasing children groups this year.3 on first period and 3 on second period are accomplished with total 6 children groups.
PSYCHODRAMA GROUPS for DIFFERENT DEVELOPING CHILDREN Psychodrama studies with children with special educational needs in a fast and efficient way. Psychodrama can work with aggression, shyness, isolation, aprosexia, environmental maladaptiveness, tics, phobias, anxiety and obsessions and it allows special children to develop healthy social relationships. IPI can organize separate groups under Attention Hyperactivity Deficit Disorder, Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Autism, Asperger categories or mixed groups. Our ongoing psychodrama group for different developing children will be finished in summer. Insights gained in Psychodrama, are processes which matures catharsis and provide it's real strength Deniz ALTINAY PSYCHODRAMA FOR EVERYBODY Psychodrama experiential groups are the groups for adults with warm up games and protagonist workshops for individuals getting familiar with their problem. These adults get an opportunity to solve their problems with resistance destructing actual methods by getting support from the other members of group and creating miniature scene of life. The purpose in these groups is not to eliminate the problems temporarily but to gain the problem solving skills with both consciousness and emotional catharses. Every Tuesday and Thursday, IPI continues with 3 different experiential groups since October until summer.
PLAYBACK THEATRE EDUCATION As one of the extensions and the source of psychodrama, playback theatre started its work on the October of 1999. As the one and only playback theatre of Istanbul, Istanbul playback theatre is founded by Deniz Altınay and the education continues at IPI. New groups are opened every year and accepting new members. Attendants get a chance to increase skills on creativity, spontaneity, living the moment and role flexibility. PLAYBACK THEATRE SHOW Playback theatre show taking place every year on certain periods. While the audience watches their shared stories come alive, they find a chance to explore themselves from the view of different eyes. Our playback theatre show already left 3 shows behind and the last Show of the year will be announced soon.
CHILD-ADOLESCENT-ADULT INDUVIDUAL WORKS Child, adolescent and adult individual psychotherapies continue at Istanbul Psychotherapy Institute GROUP PSYCHOTHERAPY E-JOURNAL As a very important act in Turkey, IPI proudly published the first issue of Group Psychotherapy E- Journal in February. The journal is gathering very important international and local names together. Our e-journal can be easily downloaded in PDF format. The new issue will be ready soon in the upcoming months with brand new specialists and subjects to be downloaded from IPI website. UPCOMING EVENTS at IPI PSYCHODRAMA and PHOBIA TREATMENT GROUP Phobias are often reshaped forms of the problems we lived in the past. In another saying, they are the rationalized expressions of the covered truths we worry the face. Individuals will have a chance to face the hidden truth behind their phobias, bring them to the moment and resolve. Psychodrama is discovery of life. With various confrontations, psychodrama lets you hit a wall painfully, but at the same time makes you fly high in the sky by increasing your awareness with all its colorfulness and richness Neşe KARABEKİR ADOLESCENT PSYCHODRAMA GROUPS Puberty is the opportunity to change the old patterns, create and experience the new ones. Therefore skill development and creativity has a very important position. Since the adolescents already have hunger to act, they find an environment to express themselves via psychodrama. They find the opportunity to act, know their self via acting and develop. Role flexibility is increased by the role games and they have a chance to explore the new stuff. With psychodrama increasing the creativity and spontaneity, the adolescents self-building path will be clear. PRESCHOOL PSYCHODRAMA PLAY GROUP Emotional, social, cognitive, motor and language development can be achieved with our age 4-5 preschool psychodrama games. At the same time, determination of children s talent and skills and making them come alive is possible via psychotherapy.
DAYTIME PSYCHODRAMA GROUPS for WOMAN Being a woman includes many roles such as being mother of a child, wife of a husband, daughter of a parent and being friend of a friend. Sometimes we feel drowned in-between all these roles we sometimes choose to take and sometime has to take. Can I live without destroying me, my roles? question is very important. The theme above and many other themes will be touched via psychodrama techniques in this workshop.
