In today s automated production environment, processes like inspection, dimension measurements and positioning have demanded increasingly varied and complex vision applications. Omron s F210 vision system is designed to speed up and simplify these processes. A general-purpose vision system, the F210 combines flexibility and ease of use with very advanced, powerful software tools to help you optimize your quality inspection performance in any automated production process. The ideal inspection system for your process! The F210 can be used to inspect everything from components on PCBs to automotive parts and medical devices in manufacturing. It is very easy to set up and configure, thanks to user-friendly menus. It uses advanced algorithms to ensure ultra-fast, ultra-precise inspection performance. And with its advanced macro functions software option, it caters to OEMs and system integrators who want the freedom of customizing their own applications. The F210 extends Omron s family of intelligent vision sensors and satisfies the market demand for a cost-effective, high-precision vision system. It is the ideal, all-round tool for quality inspection in the automotive, pharmaceutical, packaging and food industries.

F210 VISION SENSOR User-friendly standard software package The F210 (as well as the F250 series vision system) comes with a standard flow-menu configuration software package (F250-UM3FE) that enables standard inspection tasks to be easily configured via the user-friendly Graphical User Interface (GUI). Flow menus select the required processing items from the library and combine and link them for you. This software optimizes measurement images, performs measurements according to work-piece tolerance, and checks periodically for data variations. The standard software package comes with approximately 70 different processing functions. Just select the necessary inspection items from the package and install them. During setup of an inspection taskany combination of processing functions can be selected from the menu. Conditional inspections (branching) can also be defined using measurement results or digital input events. Customized applications made fast, easy and flexible If you re an OEM or system integrator who wants to offer customized vision system solutions then you ll appreciate the enhanced functionality and flexibility of the F210 s Macro Functions software option (standard in the F250). The F250- UM3ME comes with all of the 70 different processing items from the standard software package. It also lets you enhance flow menus by creating macro programs using only a PC text editor. Macros let you create your own application-specific vision system, and let you customize displays, I/O controls, and the GUI. This software option allows you to create customized operation flows by using a basic type of programming language, in which you can access and manipulate nearly every system function. Not only will your design and technical efforts be reduced, but you will also be creating image-processing applications quicker and easier than ever! To support the development of macro programs, this software comes with an electronic customization manual. In addition to the general description of macro development (Syntax, rules etc.) the manual contains more than 100 sample macros. In it you will find a description and a sample macro for every operation, including customizing monitor screen, display, operation and much more. Just search for what you want to do to see how it s done. Then use the sample macro provided to create your own macro program. Measurement processing item support The Macro Functions software supports approximately 70 different processing items. These can be freely combined for inspections as required. QUEST ensures that the six most common types of variations are always recognized correctly. Edge Code technology also enables low-contrast images and deformed or partly defective parts or features to be detected to a degree that was never before possible. QUEST Optical Character Recognition Omron s unique QUEST Optical Character Recognition and Verification algorithm enhances the detection of printed alphanumeric characters regardless of their shape or size. QUEST technology has built-in character libraries of commonly used factory automation fonts stored for reference. There s no need to register characters as models, or to teach or create font or character libraries. This makes set-up time during installation fast and easy. Fine matching Tool With this feature the F210 can quickly and accurately detect any differences between the registered model and the image being measured. This model-matching algorithm reveals defects down to the finest detail on the edges of characters, printed labels and graphic patterns. Trend monitoring for inspection analysis Use this feature to view measurement values and judgement results. Results can be trended and displayed on the monitor during the inspection process. The NG Image Save function is useful for solving the cause of rejects by providing visual conformation with the NG image when they occur. Two cameras - double the possibilities! Two cameras can be connected to the F210 to perform different inspection tasks at different locations at the same time. Omron is one of the very few companies to offer such flexibility in one of its vision inspection systems. In addition, with the new partial scan functionality you have the option of acquiring a selectable number of lines (from 12 of the full image), which reduces the image acquisition time to as low as 2ms. This makes the system one of the fastest in its class. Data storage made easy The F210 features a compact flash slot that enables analysis data (controller settings) and measurement images to be stored for later evaluation and reference.

A complete family of vision products Maximizing lighting control With an intelligent light source camera and an appropriate light source the F210 s controller menus take the guesswork out of proper lighting. With these menus, operators can control the illuminated area and light intensity. Settings are easily changed without directly adjusting the light source. Lighting positioning can be stored with other scene data, enabling operators to change the lighting conditions to match different operating environments. And because settings are stored as numeric data, it is possible to recreate the lighting conditions from machine to machine. The F10 is an advanced sensor that offers a complete vision system in a sensor format with simple and quick start-up through an automatic teaching system.
