TGH is a member of the Children s Oncology Group (COG), a National Cancer Institute-supported clinical trials group and the world s largest organization devoted exclusively to pediatric cancer research. Qualifying centers must meet strict criteria to become a member of the COG. TGH has a Pediatric Day Hospital dedicated to pediatric care (newborn through 21 years of age). The fullservice Day Hospital provides patients with a child-friendly environment for procedures or radiology studies that require sedation. The Pediatric Kidney Transplant Program is one of just five in Florida, and is the only one in West Central Florida. The program is one of the busiest in the state.. TGH is just one of three Florida Department of Health-designed pediatric brain and spinal cord injury rehabilitation centers in the state.
