Bird Nest This Yarn Nest craft is fun and versatile. Once you master the basics of making the nest you might want to create more in different sizes colors and shapes to house eggs, animal figurines, craft supplies, you name it! - glue, scissors, a balloon, yarn and eggs Step 1: Cut yarn into four inch strips. Step 2: Partially inflate the balloon and begin glueing strips of yarn all over balloon in nest shape. See what happens if you put the yarn closer together or further apart. 3. Step 3: Let it dry overnight and then pop the balloon Step 4: Add the bird eggs! (optional) 4. Join the over 1 million people who follow our Pinterest boards! pinterest.com/greenkidcrafts

Bird Bags Here s a great way to give our feathered friends a helping hand as they get ready to nest. Create a house warming, or perhaps, house building, kit and enjoy watching them find and make use of it! - tulle or cheese cloth, twigs, yarn, dryer lint, and scissors Step 1: Cut strips of tulle to overlap for bag Step 2: Collect twigs, yarn (anything a bird would find helpful to make a nest) and fill the center of the tulle. Step 3: Tie top of bag with yarn and hang outside. Watch carefully as your new neighbors find and take its contents to build their nests! 3.

Paper Roll Bird Feeder - two empty toilet paper rolls, cereal, bird seed, string, peanut butter, scissors and knife. Supplies: two empty toilet paper rolls, cereal, bird seed, string, peanut butter, scissors and knife. Step 1: cut each toilet paper roll in half and spread peanut butter over each roll 3. Step 2: roll in bird seed and cereal Step 3: thread the string through the rolls and leave enough on top to hang Step 4: hang it from a tree! 4.

Egg Walk What if eggs were really much stronger than most of us imagine? What if nature s design of the egg was so perfect that the thin, white outer coating of an egg was strong enough to withstand the weight of your body? - Two dozen eggs in the cartons Step 1: Make sure all your eggs are facing the same way in the carton - the large rounded end should be on the bottom of the carton. Step 2: Step on the eggs! If you do more than two dozen then you can walk across the eggs. How Does it Work? The egg s unique shape gives it incredible strength. The egg is the strongest at the top and the bottom. If you hold an egg in your hand and squeeze it on the top and the bottom, the egg doesn t break because you are adding pressure to the ends which are the strongest parts. But, eggs do not stand up well to uneven forces (which is why they crack easily on the side of a bowl). This also explains how a chicken can sit on an egg and not break it!

Bird Love Feeders - two packs of unflavored gelatin, heart shaped cookie cutter or mold or cup, bird seed, yarn, and scissors Step 1: Prepare the gelatin as directed. Mix in the bird seed. Add enough bird seed to the gelatine so as to make a moldable consistency. Step 3: Pack the mixture into the form about half way and then add the string. Add more mixture to fill out the form on top of the string. You will want the string to be centered in the mixture. Step 4: Refrigerate the mixture until hardened and then hang out for the birds to enjoy! 3.

Spotting Scope - paper towel roll, 8.5 x 11 piece of paper, sticky felt, string, tape Step Color or paint your craft roll using supplies from home. Step Cut a strip of sticky felt and stick it around one end of the paper towel roll. This will be the eyepiece. Step 3. Roll up the paper on the long side to make a tube. Make it so that you can slide the paper tube into the paper towel roll. Tape it so that it doesn t unroll. This is your telescoping lens! Step 4. Attach the string so that you can hang in around your neck. Step 5. Time for birdwatching! How many different species of birds can you spot?

Bird Rock Paper weights These pretty bird rock paperweights help keep important papers, artwork, and more where they belong! - rocks, paint and markers Step 1: Paint the entire rock any color. Step 2: Add accent colors for eyes, wings, etc. Step 3: Outline edges of accents with marker. Done! 3.

Egg Banner This easy, yet fun, open-ended banner craft is a perfect Easter project! - paper, glue, collage material, ribbon, pipe cleaners, tape Step 1: Cut egg shapes out of the paper. Step 2: Spread the eggs with glue, then place layers of decorations on top of the glue. Don t worry if they go over the edges - you can trim everything up at the end! Step 3: Once every egg is decorated, tape the back of each one to a long piece of ribbon. We hung it ours up in our kitchen by tacking each end of the ribbon to the wall.

Bird Bags Use these fun bird bags as Easter baskets or to carry around precious treasures! If you don t want to make bird baskets, you can easily modify this earth-friendly craft to create one with with flowers. - paper bag, ribbon, paper, felt or fabric, tissue paper or scrap paper Step 1: Roll down the top of the paper bag 3 times. Step 2: Cut out yellow chicken body & wings, red comb & wattle, and orange feet & beak from felt. Step 3: Glue the chicken body pieces on basket. Step 4: Cut two holes through the top of bag and tie on a ribbon for the handle. Step 5: Line with tissue paper or scrap paper.

Cottonball Baby Birds Make these adorable baby birds for your child to take care of! - cotton balls, yellow or orange colored chalk, orange felt, googly eyes, glue, ziplock bag, spoon Step 1: Put the chalk in a ziplock bag and crush it with a spoon. Put the cotton balls in the bag and shake until they are colored! Step 2: Glue two cotton ball together, one on top of the other, to make the baby bird s body. Step 3: Cut a beak and feet out of the felt. Glue on along with the eyes.

Milk Carton Birdhouse This fun ma - milk carton, oil pastels/markers/paint, modge podge, paint brushes, fabric, wooden skewers and ribbon Step 1: Paint the entire carton white. Step 2: Draw a house shape on front of the carton and cut out with a knife with supervision. Step 3: Cut strips of fabric and modge podge them onto carton. We only did one side but you can do as many as you want. 3. Find more more DIY ideas on Facebook! facebook.com/greenkidcrafts
