Young, June 2017 Accession number Acc# 2017-025-LIB Processing note Processed by Special Collections Volunteer Cathy Gaines, August 2017 Biographical note Richard Quincy (Moco), was a native of Baltimore and a veteran of World War I. In 1923 he began working as an artist in the news department of the Evening Sun and after a few years transferred to the promotion department, and in 1934 he returned to the news department and soon was producing cartoons on variety of local and national topics. When the Sun s editorial cartoonist left in 1949, stepped into that position, which he held until retiring in 1969. He was in poor health and had stopped drawing several years before his death in 1979. Collection Origin Collection was donated by Allen D. Young in June 2017.
