The meeting place is most often the basement of the Belfast Historical Museum, though occasionally we meet at a member s home. New members will be considered. We are looking for fellow poets who read widely enough to be conversant with the contemporary poetry scene, write regularly with the aim of publication, consider revision to be part of the writing process, are able to contribute to a respectful, constructive discussion of someone else s work, identifying its strengths first. Our current membership of five includes one with an MFA and two who are enrolled in low-residency MFA programs. All have had poems published in literary magazines, one has a chapbook, and another just won a chapbook competition. None of us has as yet published a book. We also participate in local poetry events, of which there are many in Belfast. 3
