Cautions * NEVER transmit without antenna. * USE DC power supply, take notice of power voltage must be between 6V and 8V to avoid damaging the unit. * PLEASE keep the radio dry. Rainwater or damp will corrode electronic circuits. * DO NOT open the unit. Non-expert handling of the unit may damage it. * DO NOT forget to remove the radio from the charger when the battery is fully-charged. * MAKE SURE the radio is turned off while charging. * AVOID storing the radio under the sunshine or in hot areas. High temperature can shorten the life of electronic devices, and warp or melt certain plastics. * AVOID storing the radio in dusty, dirty areas. * Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type. * Dispose of used batteries according to the instructions. Fitting & Removing the Battery Pack Installation the battery pack * Fit the bottom edge of the battery pack into the holes of the transceiver cabinet bottom. * Push the battery pack down to the transceiver aluminum chassis till the end click. Remove the battery pack * Keep pressing the release buckle of the battery pack and lift the battery pack up from the transceiver body. Note: It is normal for this buckle to be stiff. Installation the antenna * Hold the antenna and insert to SMA connector, rotate the antenna clockwise until it is tight. PAGE 4

Attachment belt clip Attach the Belt Clip * Remove the battery pack from radio. * Put belt clip into groove on battery pack until end click. Detach Belt Clip: * Remove the battery pack from radio and press the release buckle until spring is opened. * Push belt clip out. Basic Operation Turn the radio ON & OFF 1) Rotate the PWR/VOL knob clockwise till the radio is turned on. The radio gets started to auto test for two seconds. During auto testing, all icons will appear on LCD. 2) After auto testing is done, LCD will show channel number and what functions have been activated by your dealer. 3) Rotate the PWR/VOL knob clockwise to increase its volume or counter clockwise to reduce its volume. 4) To turn the radio off, rotate the PWR/VOL knob counter clockwise until the end click. Monitor Press the MON button on the side of the radio to open the squelch. This allows you to override the squelch and the CTCSS or DCS tones. It is useful to monitor the channel before you transmit and ensure there is no one using the channel when you have CTCSS or DCS tones programmed. Transmitting Before transmitting, you can monitor the channel you are using to ensure it is not busy. Keep pressing PTT button and start talking at approximately 2 inches from the MIC jack. During transmitting, the LED on the top of the radio will glow red. Release PTT button when you have finished talking. PAGE 7

Display Mode * Frequency Mode Channel Mode * Memorised Mode Refer the menu item 6 Channel Selection In channel mode, pressing the button to increase or decrease the channel number. The other way, pressing channel number goes to desired channel by alphanumeric keypad. Switch Main band to Sub band In frequency or memorised mode, press * button to toggle main band and sub band. Add A Channel In frequency mode, select desired frequency or any other items like CTCSS, DCS, press button, The LCD display SAVE char, press button goes to the channel number you wish to store, press button to save and exit. Duplicate A Channel In channel or memorised mode, select desired channel number, press button, The LCD display COPY char, press button goes to the channel number you wish to store, press button to save and exit. Delete A Channel Set radio to memorised mode and select the channel will be deleted and then turn off the radio, next to keeping press button and turn radio on, The LCD shows DEL char, finally press button to save and exit. CLONE Operation To connection as following illustration A)Target Radio: Just to turn the radio on B)Source Radio: Keeping press MON button and turn on the radio, The LCD shows CLONE char, Press button to begin transmitting. To Save the station: press button, LCD shows SAVE char, press Number 1-9 to save To Load station: Press button, the LCD display LOAD, press number 1-9 to load the station last you save. To exit FM radio mode: press button to quit. PAGE 10

Press button comes back to Scan Type Selection In menu mode, press item 1 function until LCD shows SCAN char, press button to to select the parameters from TO/CO/SE. TO: Time-Operated Scan-> After radio is locked in a busy channel for 5 second, the radio will begin scanning other channels. CO: Carrier-Operated Scan-> Radio will be locked in a busy channel till there isn t any carrier. Meanwhile, the radio will begin scanning other channels. SE: Search Scan -> Radio will be locked in a busy channel at all time till you press button. PAGE 11

TOT (Time-Out Timer) TOT is the function that prevents from locking up a repeater or frequency by prolonged keying of PTT. The time-out timer limits the amount of time you have to transmit your message. When limited time reaches, Transmitter will be cut off. item 2 until the LCD shows TOT, press to enter the function, press to select the time from (OFF, 30, 60...240) VOX Level Setting item 3 until the LCD shows VOX char, press to to select the level from (0FF, 1, 2..., 9). Press Call Setting button to confirm and return to menu mode, press item 4 until the LCD shows CAL char, press to to select the parameters from(0ff, 1, 2.3, 4)Press button to confirm and return to menu mode, press for other setting or press button comes back to PAGE 12

Roger Beep Setting item 5 until the LCD shows ROG, press to enter the function and press to select the beep type from (0FF, 1, 2.3, 4). Beep Setting item 6 until the LCD shows BEEP char, press to enter the function and press to select either On or OFF. Press Key Lock button to confirm and return to menu mode, press item 7 until the LCD shows KYLOCK char, press to to select from AUTO / MANU * AUTO: Automatic locked the key after idling 15 seconds * MANU:Keypad lock by manual. Press button to confirm and return to menu mode, press PAGE 13

Emergency Channel Setting item 8 until the LCD shows MEM char, press to to select a channel as emergency channel from channel 1 to 128. Backlit Setting item 9 until the LCD shows LED char, press to to select from AUT/OFF/ON. * AUT: Turn on backlit after any key be pressed for 5 seconds * ON: Backlit is always on * OFF: Turn off the backlit( except LAMP button) Transmit Power Setting item 10 until the LCD shows POW char, press to to select from High/Low * High: Hi Power Transmit * Low: Low Power Transmit Press button to confirm and return to menu mode, press PAGE 14

Auto Power Off item 11 until the LCD shows APO char, press to to select from OFF, 10M, 30M, 1H or 2H Scan CTCSS Setting item 12 until the LCD shows CTSCAN char, press to to select scanning direction At scanning mode, the channel has a CTCSS code, the LCD appears the code, press to confirm this code and press PTT key to talk. Scan DCS Setting item 13 until the LCD shows DCSCAN char, press to to select scanning direction PAGE 15

Under menu. item 14 until the LCD shows SQL char, press to to select from squelch level from 0FF, 1, 2..., 9.
