Board Dimensions The board dimensions in the product descriptions are approximate. Sizes quoted in the price list are rounded. We can manufacture precise sizes with a manufacturing tolerance of +/ 3-5mm. Any precise overall measurements should be requested through customer services at time of ordering. As a guide, the standard panel tolerances give the following finished board dimensions: Custom Sizes Large boards/ Cut & Join boards Approximately +7mm on quoted size (+4mm on 120cm) 4mm on quoted size 0% on quoted size Custom sizes up to the maximum standard size can be made upon request. For quotation and ordering purposes please use the product code of the next standard board size up and specify clearly what dimensions are required and whether the required dimensions are standard board dimensions or maximum exterior dimensions. If overall size is critical please let a member of the Magiboards Customer Service team know at time of ordering. Sizes in excess of the maximum standard sizes can be made as cut & join boards, whereby more than one panel is joined together by using a discreet 9mm width H section. The panels are then surrounded by one frame to create a single large board. Joins are always vertical. Unframed cut & join boards (notice boards only) are supplied as standard unframed notice boards and are butted up next to each other to create the same effect. Certificates & Standards Core substrate: Sundeala K: Frame: Conditioning boards SGS Chain of Custody Class D spread of flame BSEN755/9 Tolerances on dimensions and form + AA5 anodising grade Sundeala boards are manufactured from recycled newsprint (cellulose fibre). A feature of this natural material is its ability to adjust its moisture content to match that of the environment. Therefore, if the moisture content of the board is lower than the surrounding air, it will absorb moisture and slightly increase in size. Conditioning with water - with a brush or clean mop, rub clean water into the back of the boards at a rate of at least one litre per 1220 x 2440mm. Moisture penetration can be greatly assisted by adding a few drops of washing up liquid to the water. Then lay wet side to wet side in a neat fully supported stack and allow to stand for 48-72 hours. Lay boards smooth face down on a flat clean surface. Unheated and draught free. Under cover, out of direct sunlight. Moister boards working from the centre outwards. Conditioning with air - alternatively Sundeala board may be conditioned dry. Stand boards vertically on their long edges in the room in which they are to be installed to allow them to reach a moisture content which is in balance with their surroundings. Any packaging should be removed to allow for correct conditioning. Arrange boards loosely with separators and stand for a minimum of 3 days. Working with Sundeala Store boards in a dry, flat level base clear off the ground Make sure boards are properly conditioned as reco mmended Ensure all substrates or fixing grounds are level and clean Use appropriate type of fastness and cup washers Fix boards as recommended centres DO NOT use adhesive without checking their suitability DO NOT force boards together, joints should be lightly butted DO NOT use paint types which may adversely affect the flame resistance of the board.
Cutting Sanding Fixing Boards may be cut with a power or hand saw with a fine toothed blade. Boards should be properly supported close to the cut. Always cut from the face side. Clean sawn edges with fine glass paper Sundeala boards should be fixed to a smooth, level surface. Screws should be positioned at maximum 600mm centres through the field of the board and at 300-450mm centres around perimeters. Cup washers with screws are recommended. Boards may be fixed with screws (and suitable plugs where necessary). Fixing sequence Start fixing from one edge of sheet and work across. Do not fix corners first and then centres and this will build in a tendency towards bulging. With the second sheet start at edge adjacent to first sheet. Nails at edges of adjacent sheets should be paired not staggered. Boards should be lightly butted leaving a 5mm gap. Fixing with adhesive Maintenance Storage Although mechanical fixings are preferred, boards may be fixed to sound backgrounds with adhesives. There is a wide range available, however, in all cases the recommendations and guidance of the adhesive manufacturers should be followed. Fine glass paper can be used to remove finger marks from the surface and for general cleaning. Boards should be stored in the dry on a flat and level base.
