Promo Shelving is a fully featured modular shelving system that can be mixed and matched to suit the scope and size of your library collection. Promo combines book display and promotional materials in a retail style format that moves away from traditional library shelving, allowing the promotion of particular titles, current themes or book prize publicity with style and individuality, that does not compromise the space requirements of you full book collection. The Promo System is manufactured from a combination of MFC laminate carcases with, painted MDF Canopies and textured steel shelves, offering a subtle combination of strength and style that befits the most discerning interior library design criterion. Promo has the flexibility and durability of a modular library shelving system that is upgradeable and adaptable to the ever changing environment of modern day library needs. The inclusion of corner seating and over sail canopies gives the product a bespoke appearance and offers great design potential, with graphic panels and inclined slatted displays creating unique and individual eye catching features. Integral built in lighting to highlight specific display material is another of the design features along with pigeon hole corner angle change units enhancing that seamless bespoke appearance. A full compliment of extras are available including Corner seating, slatted display boards, suspended book supports, bay guiding, display shelves and conversion brackets that convert a flat shelf to a display shelf.
SPECIFICATION UPRIGHTS: Are available in both single and double sided format and in three heights 1200mm, 1550mm and 1900mm for 3, 4, and 5 shelves high combinations respectively. Manufactured from 25mm thick MFC with 2mm matching PVC edging, the uprights are built to withstand the rigours of modern library usage. Shelf adjustability is at 32mm increments, and the single sided panels are fitted with adjustable feet to ensure stability. All island shelving units are fitted with discrete castors for ultimate flexibility. BACK PANELS: are made from 18mm thick MFC. SHELVES: The bottom shelf is fixed and is manufactured from 25mm thick MFC. Adjustable shelves are manufactured from High grade Prime CR4 quality steel 0.9 mm thickness. Surfaces are pre- treated with iron phosphate for anti corrosion protection and powder coated in a textured epoxy polyester powder to a thickness of 30 to 60 micron. All shelves are available in two lengths 750mm and 900mm lengths and are 250mm deep. BRACKETS: Are manufactured from High grade Prime CR4 quality steel 1.5 mm powder coated in epoxy polyester powder to a thickness of 35 to 60 micron. thickness. All surfaces pre-treated with iron phosphate for anti corrosion protection and PLINTHS & CANOPIES: Are manufactured from 18mm thick painted MDF available in most RAL finishes. Plinths are 150mm high and canopies over sail upright panels by 70mm and are finished with 50mm radius on corners.
SPECIFICATION STRENGTH Shelves have been tested for strength and stability to BS 4875 parts 7 & 8 to test level 5 Severe Contract use. Shelf brackets are fitted with 5mm diameter pins that fit into holes drilled at 32mm increments and support the shelf along its entire depth. End Panels are made from 25mm thick MFC and have 2mm thick matching PVC edging for durability. Panels are fitted to back panels and bases using a combination of cam locks and dowels to ensure a sturdy Ridged structure. FINISHES Uprights and back panels are available in a range of RAL MFC laminate finishes with 2mm thick matching PVC edges. Steel shelves can be supplied to match or offer a contrasting RAL finish. Canopied are in RAL painted MDF in a range of matching or contrasting colours ABILITY TO MOVE All island units are fitted with discrete castors for maximum mobility. ABILITY TO WITHSTAND WEAR AND TEAR All edges are banded with 2mm thick PVC edging thus avoiding knocks and scratches to otherwise vulnerable edges. SPECIFY GUARANTEES ON ALL ITEMS A 12 month full parts and labour warranty is offered with all shelving components, plus Promo Shelving is guaranteed for a period of 10 years against defective or faulty workmanship, subject to fair wear and tear. CONTINUITY OF RANGE The Promo Shelving range is a well established system designed by Demco and exclusively manufactured for Demco. We will continue to supply this system to order for a period of at least 10 years from the date of this tender.
