3. Basic Operation SPM-50A RF Spectrum Power Meter works in three modes: 1. Single Normal: Forward Power, Reflected Power, Return Loss, VSWR, Peak Power, Crest, CCDF. 2. Single Burst: Burst, Burst Peak, Duty Cycle. 3. Segment Sweep: Forward Power, Frequency (Frequency of max forward power), Mark (Input frequency to get corresponding power). User need set measurement mode and frequency before test. If the signal to be tested is modulated, sample rate is also to be set. When testing CCDF, user need to set CCDF threshold. In segment sweep mode, user need set frequency range. Typical operation guide: 3.1 Test Mode Selection Shineway Technologies, Inc. - 11 -

Single Normal In Measure Set, select Single, click Normal / Burst Mode to select Single Normal mode. Single Burst In Measure Set, select Single, click Normal / Burst Mode to select Single Burst mode. Segment Sweep In Measure Set, set frequency range. There are two ways to enter Measurement Set : Click Measure Set on Tool Bar or select Measure Set from Settings Menu. Frequency Setting User need set frequency before test: Measurement Settings User can select Single or Segment Sweep mode, when in Single mode, user can Shineway Technologies, Inc. - 12 -

toggle between Single Normal and Single Burst by clicking Normal / Burst Mode button on Tool Bar. In Single Normal and Single Burst modes, user can manually set frequency (400MHz~4000MHz) or select preset frequency ranges (Major mobile bands). In Segment Sweep mode, user can manually set frequency range (Minimum Difference from start frequency and stop frequency is 5MHz) or select preset frequency ranges. 3.2 Sample Rate User need set appropriate sample rate before testing modulated signals in Measure Set menu. Available sample rates are: 5K, 30K and 300K. Higher frequency of the modulated signal, higher sample rate. 3.3 CCDF Threshold User need set CCDF threshold before CCDF test in Measure Set menu, the threshold range is: 17dBm 57dBm. 3.4 Measure Time Default test interval is 2 seconds and total time is 86400 seconds. 3.5 Unit User can choose dbm or W/mW as power unit in Measure Set menu. 3.6 Power Limit Click Settings menu to select Power Limit. When certain test item e.g. Forward Power is over limit range, the power data will be displayed in red color. Shineway Technologies, Inc. - 13 -

Power Limit Menu Check Enable Warning to enable Power Limit function. Available power limits in each mode: Single Normal mode: Forward Power, Reflected Power, Return Loss, Peak Power Single Burst mode: Burst, Burst Peak Segment Sweep mode: Forward Power 3.7 User Information User can input: Operator, Sample Type and Sample S/N information and save them to test results.
