2018 It has been remarked for years that wherever a man may travel, he will find metal goods that have come from Waterbury. Waterbury Design Works is the name we have chosen for our collections of residential light fixtures. We selected it to honor the place the American brass industry began. The City of Waterbury, Connecticut in the Lower Naugatuck Valley was the hub of brass button manufacturing needed by the military when the importation of buttons from England were halted by the American Revolution. Langdon Mills Canada Inc. began more than a decade ago designing and manufacturing well-crafted bathroom furniture for North American consumers. High Point inspired designs, hardwood frames and veneers sourced from American manufacturers characterized our timeless collections. Over the next ten years we honed our abilities to find and develop superior relationships with the premier factories located worldwide. We take great pride in bringing you beautiful things that you will love and cherish for generations. Whether it is a light fixture or a stone resin bathroom console our goal is to bring you exquisite items at prices we all can afford. Langdon Mills will never be the largest company in the world but that isn't our objective anyways. We simply want to share the beautiful things we come across with you and your family. A BBEY The Abbey Collection was designed to suit a variety of styles ranging from traditional to contemporary. We made it in two finishes, our mirror polished nickel finish for a sophisticated look and brushed nickel to suit less formal settings. Each fixture has a number of detailed features not usually found on a light fixture at the price point we have tried to bring this collection in at. Some of these features include the stepped canopy, heavy opal glass and the detailed glass shade holder and of course our incredible finishes.

B ARNSLEY The timeless and refined Barnsley line of fixtures is a study in subtle contrasts which will have everyone stopping to take a second look. The seeded, teardrop shades and polished nickel socket stand out beautifully against the matte black frame and wall plate. Attention has been given to every detail such as the vintage-style, braided cloth wiring from which the socket is suspended. B ARON The Baron Collection is such an elegant, sophisticated design it is perfectly suited to be a member of our exclusive Waterbury Design Collection. The Baron is finished in our mirror polished nickel with matte black accents or our stunning aged brass with matte black finishes. Maybe it is the gently curved arms or the tapered inner cage but the Baron has been extremely well received. The larger fixture is stunning in a large foyer and the flexibility of the smaller one being both chain hung and ceiling mount makes it suitable for all design situations.

B OYLSTON The Boylston pendants are a nice blend of old and new. While the authentic socket and braided cord are reminiscent of the early 1900 s the shape of the glass shade brings the design into the 21st century. We include the Edison vintage filament bulb with this pendant so it is ready to turn on as soon as it is installed. Our burnished bronze (similar to ORB in color) is not a painted finish like many manufacturers. We plate our raw metal with brass and then age it in a series of processes hand rubbing between applications. This is the proper way to make a burnished bronze or ORB finish.

C AMDALE The Camdale is a sleek,minamalist collection including a three, two light and wall sconce. The key to a well made light like the Camdale is how minimal the shade holder is. The smaller it is, the harder and more costly it is to make. The Camdale has less than a 1/4 shade holder which helps to create the impression the shades are free floating.

H ENDERSON The Henderson island chandelier features authentic, early 20th century, American industrial, "Loxon" trouble cages or guards, housed in vented shade holders. There could be no other finish for this fixture than our historically authentic, burnished bronze plating. Five Edison, filament bulbs are included. In contrast to most oil rubbed bronze painted finish all our Burnished Bronze finishes begin with brass plating followed by a series of aging baths. After each aging bath our fixtures are hand rubbed to eventually create a true aged bronze finish. The depth of our finish can't be duplicated by simply painting metal.

T HE BOWERY The Bowery collection is unique. The metal shades were styled after the Brodie or M1917 steel helmets employed in WWI. After the war, the excess helmets were transitioned for use as lamp shades. We've stayed loyal to the era with hinged, early-electric socket holders; cloth covered wiring, and our historically authentic, burnished bronze finish. The underside of each shade is finished in white to reflect the light as was done at the turn of the century.
