Ms. Cavo Graphic Art & Design Illustrator CS3 Notes 1. Selection tool - Lets you select objects and groups by clicking or dragging over them. You can also select groups within groups and objects within groups. 2. Direct Selection tool - Lets you select individual anchor points or path segments by clicking on them, or select an entire path or group by selecting any other spot on the item. You can also select one or more objects in a group of objects. 3. Bounding Box - When you select one or more objects with the Selection tool, a bounding box displays around them. Use the bounding box to easily move, rotate, duplicate, and scale objects by dragging the object or a handle 4. Group Selection tool - Lets you select an object within a group, a single group within multiple groups, or a set of groups within the artwork. Each additional click adds all objects from the next group in the hierarchy. 5. Lasso tool - Lets you select objects, anchor points, or path segments by dragging around all or part of the object. 6. Magic Wand tool - Lets you select objects of the same color, stroke weight, stroke color, opacity, or blending mode by clicking the object. 7. Pen Tool - The Pen tool (P) draws straight and curved lines to create objects 8. Add Anchor Point Tool - The Add Anchor Point tool (+) adds anchor points to paths. 9. Delete Anchor Point Tool - The Delete Anchor Point tool (-) deletes anchor points from paths. 10. Convert Anchor Point Tool - The Convert Anchor Point tool (Shift+C) changes smooth points to corner points and vice versa 11. Line Graph Tool - The Line Graph tool creates graphs that use points to represent one or more sets of values, with a different line joining the points in each set. This type of graph is often used to show the trend of one or more subjects over a period of time 58. Area Graph Tool - The Area Graph tool creates graphs that are similar to line graphs, but emphasizes totals as well as changes in values 59. Scatter Graph Tool - The Scatter Graph tool creates graphs that plot data points as paired sets of coordinates along the x and y axes.
