Yes, you can message them directly inside Amazon and your potential customers will know when your book goes live, so they can all go buy it immediately. If that wasn t cool enough, the next part will blow your socks off. Why? Because Amazon supplies 80% of these leads!
Yes, you read that right. Amazon will hand over potential book buyers to you at no cost to you. Even if you lose, you can message these people who have liked your book and let them know when it goes on sale. And people will buy it. So how does this entire thing work? Let me give you the rundown. 1. You put your book into the Kindle Scout program. 2. Get a few people to vote on your book. It raises in rank and more people begin to organically vote for your book. 3. The more votes you get, the higher rank you get, the more likely you are to be selected by Amazon. 4. You can communicate with the people who voted for you! Yes, you can send messages to them, especially when your book goes live whether or not you ve been selected by Amazon! Basic Requirements for the Kindle Scout Program: There are just a few basic requirements for participation in the Scout Program: 1. You must be over 18. 2. Have a valid Amazon account. 3. Live in a Kindle Scout-eligible country. (This shouldn t be a problem) 4. The book must be at least 50,000 words long and in English. 5. It must be in a fiction niche. Unfortunately, short books or picture style books won t cut it. But most fiction books will be just fine (no erotica). If you meet these qualifications, then you can utilize this strategy. Now let s dive into this strategy.
Book Scout Strategy There are a few components of this strategy, none of which are difficult. You don t need to do all these components, but if you do all of them, you ll see a dramatic increase in the success of your launch. Here are the components: 1. Get your book into the scout program. (Already covered above the only requirement) 2. Sign up for a kboards.com account and post in the thread about Kindle Scout. (More on this in a minute) 3. Prep your book launch strategy and launch. Coordinate with other launch strategies to increase earnings While only component 1 is required, if you want to see success, you almost MUST do #2. You just need a kboards account and posting in the kindle scout threads here: https://www.kboards.com/index.php?topic=213112.0 Place your book there and vote on other people s books. As you gather more votes, your rank will increase and you ll start to gather organic votes, which just further increases your rank.
Even if you don t get many votes 100 or 200, that s enough to make a difference during launch. If only 20 or 30 of those people buy right at launch, your book will jump and gather more sales. It s enough to get the ball rolling and building up the sales. One thing you absolutely SHOULD be doing is gathering these leads and customers in a direct way getting them on an email list after purchase (by sending them to your site in the book). This is a bootstrapping strategy, by the way, which means each launch should grow. The entire bootstrapping strategy works well together and increases the likelihood of more book sales. Let s dedicate the 3 rd component launch and promotional strategy in a separate chapter. The Launch Strategy To get the most out of the Kindle Scout program, I highly recommend you follow this launch strategy. It s not complicated, it just involves some price setting, the right message to your audience, and collecting leads. I ve divided this into two different variations: your first book, and every book thereafter. A. For your first book, you ll want to charge 99 cents at launch, then raise the price to 2.99+ after launch. I recommend that you get into the Kindle Countdown program for this, as it adds timer and urgency to purchase your book. Then, send a message informing your voters that your book is available, and for how long at 99 cents. Finally, I would coordinate with book sites (such as BookBub, etc.) to send even more traffic. These strategies are covered in other guides but the concept is the same just stack up your traffic. Don t forget to gather leads on an email list after they purchase! This is SOOOO important! Especially for B.
B. This strategy is essentially the same as A, except for one key difference. You re going to be putting links promoting your new book (and your old books) in every book you have out. And you re going to lower the price on a bunch of them. It doesn t matter how many though it makes sense to do so on a series of books that relates to your newest book. If you only have 2 books, the new and old one, then lower the price for the 4 days on the old book. Then send the message to your voters AND email your list. The amount of sales you ll see across the board can be quite dramatic. Combine the pricing strategy, kindle countdown, kindle scout and your email list and you cannot lose. And if you win, you get Amazon s backing. It s an incredible program but there is more to this than just the strategy. I m going to reveal something that will blow your socks off. It s the Thank You Message.
