5 Information about AR Cards If your AR Card cannot be recognized, check the following and try again. View the AR Card from an appropriate distance and angle. AR Cards cannot be recognized if you hold the system too close or too far from them. Get the right distance and angle. Ensure that the whole AR Card is visible on the upper screen. If part of it is not visible, it may not be recognized. Ensure you are in a well-lit area. Use AR Cards in areas where they will not be illuminated directly by sunlight or light from other sources, as this can interfere with the cameras' ability to recognize them

properly. If a camera lens is dirty, wipe it with a soft cloth before you begin. If the AR Cards are bent or folded, they cannot be recognized by the system. Ensure that any AR Cards in use are kept flat. Keep AR Cards clean or they may become unusable. If the characters display incorrectly, please read the Outer Cameras section of the System Settings electronic manual, accessed from the HOME Menu. Check Your Surroundings When playing AR Card games, you may have to move around the area while holding the Nintendo 3DS system. Make sure you have enough room, and hold the system firmly with both hands while playing.
