J A N N A W A T S O N M O O D Y A S L I G H T September 2018 From the reflection glinting in a stranger s eye to the dullest light in a dark room, Janna Watson takes her inspiration from the immense impact of subtlety and nuance. As she collects these experiences, she exposes the spaces deep within the self and unflinchingly explores the creative disclosure of the spirit from the inside out. Her work is alchemical; a visual expression of emotion externalized through paint. The experience of the artist s body is evident in her gestural mark-making and generosity of paint application. With a rare talent for color and texture she strikes a balance between chaos and harmony, laying bare the act of creation with her stirring, abstract compositions.
