From the toppling of the Twin Towers to the tumbling of the Berlin Wall Through the darkness of a world at war to the light of victory Rotary has endured. Economic depressions, social turmoil, and political unrest have only made Rotary stronger in its convictions and more dedicated to achieving its ideals of international understanding and peace. The world s premier service organization has stood the test of time and at 104 today stands ready to face the opportunities and challenges of its second century. It was December 1920, when a small group of Greenwich business and professional men, feeling that it was time to have a men s luncheon club where views on business and community affairs could be discussed, decided that the Rotary concept of service above self met their ideals. Rotary continues to be a vital part of the Greenwich community. Over the years, the club has become more inclusive as have its charitable efforts locally, nationally and internationally. 7
