Slöjdklubben children s club summer camps (for children): Slöjdklubben children s club summer camps are organised for children and combine play, swimming and know-how about what the forest has to offer in terms of materials. A different way for children to discover the nature at Urnatur. Urnatur offers a complete experience in a unique setting, characterised by a feeling of authenticity, nature and forest. An exciting place that provides inspiration, nature experiences, activities, reflection and a feeling of being consciously present. The farm lives in its own ecocycle. Everything is well thought out and built with the greatest thought and craftsmanship. From textiles designed inhouse to the smallest wooden stopper. Urnatur Urnatur is a very special place, like no other, in both appearance and concept. The food and drink served here come from the local countryside, and you can experience things you ve only heard of and things you didn t think it possible to eat or drink. We prepare the food together in different teams and, needless to say, food is included in the course price. The days are busy with the course activities, and in the evenings we do things together such as lectures, open handicraft workshops, and an excursion or two in the local area. There will also be a surprise or two, but let s keep that a secret for now. 2
More about the various focus areas at the camp Handicrafts with children (for adults): Slöjdklubben children s club instructor training a brief course for any adults interesting in passing on their know-how to a new generation. As an instructor you will be given the knowledge to be able to guide children in their own discovery of handicraft materials and tools. We will be focusing on education, methodology and practical textile and wood handicrafts, as well as how to use knives and axes safely. We take a closer look at the history of handicrafts and folk art to find inspiration and creativity. The course will also deepen your knowledge of Slöjdklubben s teaching tools: the Word Treasure Chest, the Narrator Lantern and the Handicrafts Basket. You do not need to be a handicrafts professional to become an instructor, all you need is a willingness to pass on and teach your skills! The club focuses on stimulating children s curiosity to learn. Cost of materials: approx. SEK 500. Do It Yourself in a forest environment (up to approx. 25 years): Are you interested in doing handicrafts with likeminded people and discovering what materials and possibilities the forest has to offer? How to find fresh handicraft materials, what sort of wood can be used to make household utensils, or perhaps which plants you can eat? You could weave baskets, make furniture or build a sauna, for example. The main theme of Do It Yourself in a forest environment is the forest s materials, and the craft and handicraft techniques used by indigenous people that live close to nature. At the same time we ll investigate the possibilities offered by the forest in today s society. How to harness the forest s resources in a modern society, and how to combine them with contemporary materials and techniques. Simple reuse tips to contribute to a more sustainable world. Cost of materials: approx. SEK 250. Slöjdklubben children s club summer camps (for children): We arrange a Slöjdklubben camp for all children. Together with skilled instructors, the children discover the possibilities of nature, handicrafts with needle and thread, and with knife and axe. They collect their materials from what the forest has to offer. We also visit the animals on the farm, learn to make a fire, swim and play. All of our instructors are trained in Slöjdklubben s educational approach and are genuinely interested in the children s experience in handicrafts and creating. They have also carried out a children s accident first aid course through the Red Cross. Cost of materials: approx. SEK 250. 3
