Every year, the Live Oak Economic Development Corporation (LOEDC) hosts a Business Appreciation Luncheon to thank local businesses for their dedication to our city s present and future economic growth. We were proud to honor a few of those businesses that make a difference in our community by celebrating their milestones and outstanding achievements. The annual luncheon was held on Wednesday, July 11th at the Hilton Garden Inn and Live Oak Conference Center and had the largest attendance record to date. The event honored 32 businesses for their continued efforts and support to the community of Live Oak throughout 2017-2018. Three businesses received special recognition for their exceptional support to the City and to the community. The three businesses recognized and awarded the pillar awards included Biff Buzby s Burgers as Community Partner of the Year, Dunkin Donuts as Business Partner of the Year and Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union as Corporate Business Partner of the Year. We congratulate all 32 businesses recognized at this year s luncheon and give thanks to all in attendance, owners, proprietors, managers and employees who invest and work in Live Oak every day. Members of the Economic Development Board would also like to thank Tri-County Chamber of Commerce, Madwomen Marketing, City Public Service, CleaResults, LiftFund, Welcome Wagon, and the Live Oak Fire Department, Parks & Recreation and Code Compliance for providing valuable information to the businesses during the event. A special thank you goes to Marie Atkinson and Janita Woodall with LOCAP for their assistance during registration and our guest vocalist, Paul Davis. For questions please call Donna Lowder, 210-653-9140, ext. 2219 All Scarecrows received will be on display in front of the municipal buildings along Shin Oak Drive from Tuesday, October 2, 2018 through Wednesday, October 31, 2018. SCARECROW S SPECIFICATIONS: 1. Scarecrows must be able to sit or stand outside on props you provide. Each scarecrow must be between 5-6ft tall by 3ft wide of sturdy construction, mounted and weather resistant. 2. Tastefully themed scarecrows with your business logo; must be include business name and associated colors. 3. No lights or automation will be allowed. 4. Scarecrow construction must include some use of hay or straw. The LOEDC members and staff will judge the designs and all judge s decisions are final. Winner (s) will be announced Friday, October 5, 2018. Winners will be notified by phone. We would love to have pictures with the winners and your staff with your Scarecrow.
