BLACKHAWK ARCHERS OF LA CROSSE WISCONSIN, INC. ANNUAL MEETING MINUTES 03/25/2018 The meeting was held at La Crosse Archery in Onalaska, Wisconsin at 6:00 pm on March 25, 2018. Present: John Robison, Ron & Betty Schmidt, Jon & Holly Powell, Anthony Schmidt, Laura Rosenthal, Art Wells, Karl Horstman, Terry Wright, Dan Strasser and Troy Johnson. John Robison called the meeting to order. The group reviewed the 2017 meeting minutes. Jon Powell made a motion to accept the minutes as written, seconded by Anthony Schmidt. The motion passed. Treasurer s Report: Laura Rosenthal presented the financials for 2017. See the attached reports for the details. The practice of giving away free memberships for new bow purchases has not resulted in year over year membership, so it was the consensus of the group that we should stop that practice. A motion was made by Anthony Schmidt to accept the Treasurer s report, seconded by Betty Schmidt. The motion passed. President s Report: John Robison presented the President s report. John noted that the shoot dates from 2017 worked well, but for one due to inclement weather. His primary concern was the fact that membership needs to grow with the club. It was suggested that we become more active on Facebook, increasing our social media presence in an attempt to generate interest and more membership. Laura Rosenthal will also prepare a flyer promoting Blackhawk for the 4H families that attend their annual Tournament at La Crosse Archery at the beginning of April. Motion to accept the President s Report by Anthony Schmidt, seconded by Jon Powell. Motion passed. Range Report: Art Wells presented the Range Report. It was noted that target #9 needs to be rebuilt. We have plenty of bales remaining from those purchased last year. We will have Work Days every Saturday morning in April from 8am noon. Our Redding Prep shoot will have 20 targets with a few for a shoot off in the practice range. Motion to accept the Range Report made by Ron Schmidt, seconded by Anthony Schmidt. Motion carried. New Business: 2018 SHOOT DATES o April 28-29 Redding Prep Shoot. Jon Powell to coordinate. Cost for the shoot is o June 3 West Central Field Archery League o June 23 Blackhawk Field Shoot. 10:00 Shotgun start. Fee to shoot $20 ($10 for club, $10 to pot). Food will be provided. o July 14 3D Shoot. Online registration. $20 to shoot. 50% Payback. Both hunter & open classes, marked 3D. Opens day of the shoot at 8am. Shotgun start at 9am. Highway 16 Signage. Contact has been made with Clearview Sign in West Salem. The group reviewed 4 versions of a potential sign and the group determined that the preferred draft includes an orange background and black arrows. The group requested that the club website be included on the sign as well as an arrow pointing toward the club and

BLACKHAWK ARCHERS OF LA CROSSE WISCONSIN, INC. ANNUAL MEETING MINUTES 03/25/2018 indicating the distance to the club. There will be an attachment under the sign that will note the year s shoot dates. Jon Powell will return to Clearview and get a quote and move forward with the sign project. Election of Officers: Range Captains: Jon Powell nominated Skip Koske, Art Wells & Dan Blumer to be Range Captains again this year. Motion seconded by Betty Schmidt. Motion passed. Social Media: Ron Schmidt nominated Anthony Schmidt & Jon Powell to manage the Social Media for the Club. Seconded by Betty Schmidt. Motion carried. Secretary/Treasurer: John Robison nominated Laura Rosenthal, seconded by Ron Schmidt. Motion carried. Vice President & President: Jon Powell nominated John Robison to be the Vice President. John Robison then nominated Jon Powell for President. After discussion Jon Powell accepted the President position provided John Robison was Vice President. A joint vote was taken with John Robison as Vice President and Jon Powell as President. The vote was unanimous. Motion to adjourn made by Ron Schmidt, seconded by Betty Schmidt.
