SmartMark Crimping Instructions The Encore pulling sleeves can be easily crimped onto Encore copper wire with an 11 ton hydraulic press. Figure 1: Strip Strip the wire jacket at least four (4) inches back. Figure 2: Sleeve seated on wire Seat the pulling head sleeve firmly onto the wire, making sure that there is no space between the end of the wire and the nose of the pulling head. The pulling head is fully seated when the pulling cable is pressed against the top of the sleeve. The sleeve may require twisting and/or tapping with a hard plastic mallet to seat. Figure 3: Crimped on SmartMark (3/0 AWG to 500 KCMIL) The press used to crimp the pulling heads should be centered directly over the patent pending SmartMark crimp line in order to guarantee correct crimp placement. Encore Wire SmartMark Pulling Heads Crimping Instructions SmartMark pulling heads take the headache out of attaching pulling heads! Locate the raised lines around the sleeve of the pulling head to find the appropriate crimp locations, and use the respective number of crimps listed below.
