Matteo Carlotti Carlotti (Italy) Matteo Carlotti joined Argos Soditic Italia in February 1997 as an Investment Director involved in sourcing, structuring, negotiating and monitoring equity investments in Italy. From 1992 to 1997, Mr. Carlotti was an Investment Manager in Chase Capital Partners (formerly Chase Gemina Italia) where he was involved in several equity investments. Prior to that, he worked for Mediocredito delle Venezie, an Italian bank. Mr. Carlotti is Italian and holds an economics and business administration degree from the University of Venice. Lieve Creten Partner, Deloitte Corporate Finance (Belgium) Lieve joined the audit department of Deloitte as junior assistant in 1989. She qualified as a Certified Public Accountant in 1995 and spent six months with D&T Cincinnati, Ohio, USA (1994) as audit manager. During her professional career in the audit practice she had the occasion to work on a wide range of private sector assignments in Belgium and abroad mainly for large multinational trade and manufacturing companies in various industries. In 1998 Lieve transferred to Deloitte Corporate Finance where she became partner in 2000 heading up the Transaction Services department. This department is mainly advising financial and strategic buyers on due diligence, IFRS accounting issues, bid support (valuations), purchase price allocations, business modelling, deal structuring, and other aspects of transactions in a wide range of industries including amongst other Manufacturing, TMT, Logistics, Financial Services, Building Materials and Retail.

Maria Elena Daynes Consultant, HayGroup (France) Maria-Elena works in the areas of Change Management, Organizational Effectiveness and Leadership Development. Within this scope, she supports organizations undergoing change by designing and facilitating organizational, group and individual interventions. At Hay Group, Maria-Elena is a core member of the global M&A practice and leads the BEO (Building Effective Organizations) practice in France. Ed Harris Senior Associate, SJ Berwin LLP (United Kingdom) Ed Harris is a senior associate in SJ Berwin's Corporate Finance Department. Ed joined SJ Berwin in March 2005 having previously been a senior assistant in Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer's corporate finance department. Ed advises on a broad range of corporate transactions, with particular focus on multi-jurisdictional mergers and acquisitions and leverage buy outs. Before joining SJ Berwin, Ed advised Warburg Pincus on its LBO of Clondalkin, the international packaging business. Ed has since joining SJ Berwin advised Nomura on its recently announced LBO of NORDSEE, a fast food retail business based in Northern Europe. Christian Schneider Managing Partner, PolyTechnos Venture-Partners (Germany) Dr. Schneider has extensive work and investment experience in the areas of diagnostics and medical R&D. Based on a doctorate in veterinary medicine and a PhD in immunology, he has a medical and life science background that spans diverse disciplines such as food sciences, oncology, immunology, surgery, infectious diseases, and molecular biology. He brings 14 years of operational, scientific, and product development experience in the diagnostic and biopharmaceutical industry from positions of increasing responsibility at Boehringer Mannheim/Roche, Centocor (a Johnson & Johnson company), and PolyTechnos. During his time at Boehringer Mannheim/Roche (Germany, 1992-1995), he was responsible for the development of the first fully automated test for the detection of free PSA, a new prostate cancer marker, which is marketed by Roche worldwide. At Centocor (Philadelphia, USA, 1995-2000), he led the development of a panel of tumor marker tests for ovarian, colon, and breast cancer that involved transatlantic collaboration and technology transfer between Centocor and Boehringer Mannheim/Roche. Moreover, as a business developer and external research manager, he gained experience in the licensing of products, negotiation of licensing agreements, budgets, and project management. In 2001, after 6 years with Centocor, he joined PolyTechnos in Munich, Germany, initially as an Investment Manager, then as a Partner (in 2002) and Managing Partner (in 2006). As a lead partner, he played a key role in shaping the strategy of PolyTechnos' portfolio company OncoMethylome Sciences (Euronext: ONCO), which he co-founded and where he holds a board seat,

and he actively applied his expertise in medical product development and diagnostics in his board observer roles at Devgen (Euronext: DEVG) and Jerini (Frankfurt: JI4) prior to their IPOs in June 2005 and November 2005, respectively. He holds a doctorate degree in veterinary medicine (1992) and a PhD in immunology (1995), both from the University of Munich, Germany, as well as an MBA with focus on healthcare administration from Penn State University, Pennsylvania (1999). Julie Teigland Country Leader, Ernst & Young (Germany) Julie has more than 16 years of public accounting experience in both international tax and auditing. She began her career with Arthur Andersen in Frankfurt, Germany spending 7 years in the US tax department as tax manager focusing on international cross-border transactions. Julie also has accumulated industry expertise spending close to 3 years at Tishman Speyer properties, an international real estate developer, heading their financial reporting and accounting department in Europe. In 2001 Julie rejoined the field of public accounting and has been a partner with Ernst & Young since 2002. Julie is now responsible for Ernst & Young's Strategic Growth Markets initiative in Central Europe and Germany, aimed at winning and supporting fast-growing companies in both the life science and technology industries. In addition, Julie leads our Venture Capital Advisory Group in Germany and in the CEA. Julie holds a US CPA, and has completed her university studies in Germany, and Paris with honors. Julie lectures regularly in international accounting issues including at Schiller International University in Heidelberg.

Andreas Wuesthoff Partner, SJ Berwin Berlin (Germany) Andreas is a partner in SJ Berwin's corporate department. He advises on a broad range of corporate transactions, with particular focus on venture capital financing and leveraged buy-outs, acting for venture capital funds and buy-out houses, as well as for venture capital backed companies. Andreas studied in Tübingen, Leiden and Philadelphia (LL.M., University of Pennsylvania, Fulbright Scholar). Andreas is also qualified as an attorney-at-law in New York.
