Applictionsmnul あ 1.Overview 1.1 Overview This mnul shows how to remove BRNS/BRFS series from user ord. Plese choose the suitle method for removing with reference to the following Tle.1. (According to the equipment which customer owns.) Tle.1 removlmethodlist 3-1 3-2 3-3 3-4 3-1 3-2 3-3 3-4 4-1 1-1

Applictions mnul For BRNS/BRFS series 2.12.Preprtion Pin configurtion Plese prepre those listed elow efore proceeding to remove the power supply. Removl tool Adhesive Thermocouple 2.1 Removl tool The removl tool s shown in the Fig.2.1.1 is necessry in this removl method. In this tool, there is purpose to protect the components on the power supply from hot irflow during removl, nd to lift the power supply from the user ord y mgnetic force when the solder ecomes molten. The tool is composed of mgnet nd the ody of the luminum. Plese select the mteril of mgnet tht mgnetic force is less likely to fll off t high temperture. Smrium-colt is recommended. When you instll mgnet ody, plese use dhesive tht is het-resistnt (such s thermosetting dhesive). This tool should e prepred in ccordnce with the size of ech module. Plese refer to the dimensions of the tool s descried in the remrks on Sec. 6. Fig. 2.1.1 The removl tool for BRNS20l mgnet mgnet isometric view ottom vied 2.2 Adhesive You should e dhered to the module's PWB the inductor with n dhesive to prevent the module's PWB nd the inductor eing removed during removl. It is recommended to thermosetting dhesive with het resistnce (ADE400D Pnsonic etc.)refer Sec.3. 2.3 Thermocouple Plese prepre thermocouple to confirm the removl temperture profile. Plese select thermocouple cple for mesuring t high tempertures (pproximtely 300 degrees). 2-1

Applictionsmnul 2.13.Themethodforremovingyremovltool Pin configurtion 3.1 Bond inductor to module's PWB When removing the product, there is possiility tht the inductor is removed from module's PWB. Plese pply the dhesive to the plce shown in the Fig. elow. Allow this dhesive to cure efore pplying het to remove the module. Fig. 3.1.1 Appliction point (BRNS6,12) Fig. 3.1.2 Appliction point (BRNS20) Fig. 3.1.3 Appliction point (BRFS30) Fig. 3.1.4 Appliction point (BRFS50) c d c d 3-1

Applictionsmnul 3.2 Removl tool instlltion Plese djust the position of the mgnet with comes to just ove the inductor. Fig. 3.2.1 Instlltion loction mgnet inductor 3.3 Connection of the thermocouple Plese connect the thermocouple ner the mounting pd shown in Fig. elow. Plese pply the glue on the thermocouple.. Applictions mnul 3.4 Heting method 3.4.1 Reflow By using removl tool, BRNS/BRFS series cn e removed from user ord y reflow. Plese set up so tht the instlltion point of thermocouple ecomes elow recommended reflow soldering condition shown in Fig. 3.4.1.1. (It cn e removed t the sme temperture s the temperture profile for reflow soldering.) If the term nd temperture of the regultion for reflow soldering re exceeded, the reliility of internl prts my e spoiled. Moreover, the mgnetism of removl tool deteriortes nd it my e unle to tke up power supply. Fig. 3.4.1.1 Recommended reflow soldering condition Plese remove power supply promptly with the removl tool. When you remove, e creful since the removl tool gets hot. Fig. 3.4.1.2 Fig. 3.4.1.3 Removl y After removl removl tool 3-3

Applictions mnul 3.4.2 Hot Air BRNS/BRFS series cn e removed from user ord with the following procedure using instruments, such s hot ir (Fig.3.4.2.5). (1) Plese prehet from the ottom side of the mounting ord to 180 (Fig.3.4.2.1) y using heter(fig.3.4.2.2) etc. * When temperture is set up out of the rnge of 180±10,BRNS/BRFS my e tken up since the mgnetism of the removl tool deteriortes t pek temperture. Fig. 3.4.2.3 The set of removl tool (3) Het to 245 (Fig.3.4.2.4) y using hot ir(fig.3.4.2.5) etc. * When the temperture is higher thn 245, the mgnetism of removl tool deteriortes. BRNS/BRFS my e unle to e tken up. Fig. 3.4.2.4 Fig. 3.4.2.5 Heting in hot ir Hot Air HAKKO FR-802 (model nme) (4) Plese remove power supply promptly with the removl tool. Fig. 3.4.2.6 After removl When you remove, e creful since the removl tool gets hot. The timing is shown in Fig.3.4.2.7. If the term nd temperture of the regultion for reflow soldering re exceeded, the reliility of internl prts my e spoiled. Applictionsmnul あ 4.Themethodforremovingysolderingiron 4.1 Soldering iron (Only BRFS series ) In order to remove BRFS series from user ord, ll the terminls on the ck re heted simultneously, to e melted the solder. It is necessry to crry out. (The ck of the product is shown in Fig. 4.1.1) In order to improve the working efficiency, there re some methods tht heting the whole mounting ord y the heter which is prepred under the user ord or prepring the heting pd on the user ord shown in Fig. 4.1.2. Fig. 4.1.1 The ck terminl of BRFS (The left : BRFS50, right:brfs30) Fig. 4.1.2 The exmple of sustrte with the pd for heting The pd for heting Itislsogoodtouse themountingpdof cermiccpcitor. Next, ner the terminl of the pd for heting or power supply s shown in Fig. 4.1.2 is directly heted with soldering iron, melting the soldering portion of terminl nd power supply is removed from user ord. In this cse, if T chrcter type soldering iron s shown in Fig. 4.1.3. Working efficiency cn e improved. The exmple of work is shown in Fig. 4.1.4 Fig. 4.1.3 T chrcter type soldering iron HAKKO iron penⅡjk4-20l (soldering iron point model nme) Fig. 4.1.4 Exmple of removl work Besides the soldering iron shown in Fig. 4.1.3, there re the soldering iron point (T12-1406) of T chrcter for FX-951 mnufctured y HAKKO, etc. s sttion type. * Avoid reuse of removed power supply since the terminl prt hs prolem for reliility. 4-1

Applictionsmnul あ 5.Atchmentfterremovl 5.1 Attchment 5.1.1 Removl of solder After pplying flux, the solder on the pd fter removing power supply is desolderingtool etc., removed y residue. The residue of the solder should e removed crefully since it my cuse the prolem tht the solder pste is less printed or the power supply is mounted t tilt. Fig. 5.1.1.1 Fig. 5.1.1.2 The pd fter The pd fter solder power supply removl removl * When power supply inclines nd is mounted, terminl my ecome non-solder in prt. 5.1.2 Supply of soldering pste An pplictor (dispenser) nd sptul re used for the terminl pd of user ord Fig. 5.1.2.1 The ppliction y dispenser (it pplies to user ord) 5.1.3 Mounting the power supply (loding, reflow) Plese mount power supply on pd nd perform reflow. * Plese do not pply except reflow soldering, since it is difficult to e mounted the power supply fltly, it cuse the soldering filure of the terminl. * Hot ir heting nd mounting with soldering iron my degrde the reliility of power supply internl prts.
