He provides advice to major corporations on all aspects of Canadian employment and labour law, with an emphasis on cross-border issues, executive employment contracts, termination packages, workplace policies, employment standards, workplace health and safety issues and all matters arising from national and international employment relationships including plant closures, corporate restructuring and mass terminations. Patrick is well experienced in management-labour relations, including union certification and decertification proceedings, collective bargaining, grievance arbitration and management of strikes and lock-outs. Patrick is Vice-Chair of the Employment and Industrial Relations Law Committee of the IBA and a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. Eric leads the firm s initiatives in respect to Germany, Austria and Switzerland. His practice focuses on corporate and commercial law, with an emphasis on Canadian- European cross-border issues, including advising on mergers, acquisitions, disposition and financing, corporate governance matters, business and family succession, project development, and the establishment of subsidiaries in the NAFTA marketplace. Eric has specific expertise in renewable energy and independent power production. He has advised a variety of clients in the energy sector in connection with their entry into Canada; acquisition, development and financing of power projects, including wind and solar, and associated regulatory requirements.
