Types of courses & costs Thank you for contacting us about our training courses. Our courses are very hands on, you will learn everything you need to know about leather and restoring it. We offer several types of courses as follows. 1 Day Detailers Course & Kit 1 day training course designed just for detailers, learning about leather cleaning and care processes and carry out minor repairs and touch ups and colour systems and techniques. 375 plus VAT per person. See page 12 for full details. 3 Day IMI Automotive/Furniture Course 3 day training course, this course covers everything for cars and furniture. IMI Awards registration and certification is all included within your course costs, this course is for automotive repairs, gaining you a QAP Qualification, costs including full technicians repair kit is just 995 plus VAT per person. See page 11 for full details & contents. The only additional cost on this course is the IMI registration of 75 plus VAT. 4 Day IMI Expert Leather Repair Course & Kit The 4 day Leather Expert Course will teach you everything you need to know, with a full day focused on SMART REPAIRS, a day on preperation and restorations / colouring / colour changes, and a day focusing on colour mixing and leather ID. The final day will include tips, tricks of the trade and two tone leather restorations. Comes complete with the BIGGEST kit ever, including a compressor. 1650 plus VAT per person. See page 13 for full details. 2 Tone/Antique Course This is a two day training course to learn how to care and repair two tone and antique leathers, learning applications and sealing methods to gain different types of finishes. 395 plus VAT per person or Kit & training 742 plus vat per person. Cleaning & ID Course Learn the ins and outs of leather cleaning and what to use on each type of leather and how to remove stains and care for leather, includes full leather ID training to gain you an understanding of leather. 150 plus VAT per person or kit & training 395 plus VAT per person. Leather Refresher Course Brush up on your skills and find out new tips and tricks of the trade and learn all about new products. 195 plus VAT per person. Leather Introduction Days These days are designed for large groups and car clubs to come along on a day to learn and see all about leather repairs and care and have a go yourself at repairs on our test items. Registration fee 10 per person. 1-on-1 Course A one on one course can be arranged if you prefer not to work in a small group this 3 day course costs 2,500 plus VAT. SMART Repair Fabric Course This is a one day SMART repair fabric / velour repair course, this complete intense course includes a full kit at 475.00 plus VAT. We have a management system in place, to ensure the assessor and the centre co-ordinator keep up with industry standards for repairs and restoration at all times. The courses we run are run by the UK s finest professional instructor Richard Hutchins who has been involved in leather since the age of 14, over the years Richard has trained companies far and wide, from vehicle detailers, aircraft companies, furniture manufacturers, clothing companies, handbag companies, car manufacturers, yacht suppliers and even interior designers. With our leather repair training centre being an approved centre it makes it very unique compared to others, you are provided with full approval and certification. With our leather repair training courses being the choice of people today due to it s in depth hands on training, this gives the trainee a much better and clearer approach to leather repairs, far better than any other company in the leather repair training market today. All courses that are booked are on a non-refundable basis and cannot be changed. Only under exceptional circumstances will a course be changed for you, if you just wish to change as that date is not acceptable to you any more then we will charge an additional 75 plus VAT on top of your course as we will have lost a slot for that date. The three day IMI course has a 21 question exam to answer at the end of day three, which all form part of your training evaluation and go towards your pass scores. On the two day IMI detailers course you get all 21 questions at the end of day two in one exam sitting. What do I need to bring on my course? Please bring with you on the day a leather item to work on, ideally a car seat from a scrap yard or a footstool or seat base. Suitable protective footwear. Suitable clothing for working with paints and chemicals. Any medication that may be required. Additional points while on a course Make sure you ask plenty of questions and bring a note book with you to make loads of notes and a camera to take pictures of what you re doing. We will go through all of our products to ensure you know what each product is for, what job it does and in what order they should be used. Health & safety Health and Safety procedures need to be pointed out regarding safety when spraying and masks must be worn at all times when doing this. We will advise on correct storage procedures and disposal of unused products and how to store any solvent based products correctly. 4 day expert leather course A quick guide to what you will be doing. Day 1: We go through leather ID, then the rest of the day is colour mixing, making colours matched to sections of leather, creating colour cards and more.
