Step 1: Preparation and cleaning The wind and weather can have a significant impact on wood in the garden. You can revitalise and permanently protect corrugated boards and garden furniture where the wood has already weathered or become grey. We offer a complete package of carefully coordinated products to do this especially for wood in the garden. Step 2: Protection and care With natural oils and waxes A pretreatment or cleaning may initially be necessary depending on the condition of the wood. You can see from the overview at the bottom left which products are most suitable. A subsequent treatment with one of our wood oils gives your wood effective protection and the necessary care. Just select the right shade of the desired product and you will see that tables, chairs and wooden flooring can be attractive again! New wood also needs proper care from the outset. This is the only way to prevent premature weathering and greying. We offer four wood oils in many shades, especially for wood outdoors. 5
Practical Tips The substrate must be clean, dry and free of grease. We recommend that you always make a trial application. The intensity of the colour is particularly influenced by the condition of the substrate, type of wood, application technique and wood moisture content. With very greasy or oily tropical wood (e.g. Massaranduba) we recommend that the wood is initially exposed to the weather for 6 to 8 weeks before the initial treatment with Koralan Wood Oil, otherwise staining or defects may occur in the surface finish. Drying may take significantly longer in unfavourable weather conditions (high humidity, low temperatures). Drying may also take up to several days when applied to certain types of tropical wood (e.g. Massaranduba, teak) as well as oak. 6
The lighter the shade chosen and the more intense the weathering, the shorter the after-care intervals. Only regular care protects the surface of your wood from the sun, rain and greying and reduces the swelling and shrinkage of the wood. Koralan Grey Wood Renovator Cleaning concentrate Water-soluble For outdoors Koralan Grey Wood Renovator Properties: Colourless Easy to apply Low-odour Water-soluble Also removes iron stains from wood, amongst other things Properties / Application: For heavily greyed or weathered wood. Deeply penetrating cleaning concentrate based on oxalic acid. For revitalising and priming weathered, greyed wood outdoors, e.g. for old decking and greyed garden furniture. Brings out the natural colour of the unweathered wood again. Apply with a scrubbing brush or scrubber and leave it to take effect for about 10 minutes. Then rinse it with plenty of water. Rid flagstones, walls, bricks or fences of green growths effortlessly with Koratect Anti-Growths. Dilute with water in a ratio of 1:3 to 1:10. Application method: Apply with a watering can and leave it to take effect for approx. 24 hours: remove stubborn stains with a scrubbing brush.
