Installation of a In-Line Panel Door 1. Stick (2) strips of tape to bottom of threshold. Lift panel and place cupped area under glide of panel, both sides of threshold must be done. This will determine the correct panel spacing for doorway. NOTE: Use velcro tape on carpet and double back tape on hard surface floors. You may remove threshold cover to run cables. Cover is held on by (3) flat head screws. 2. Install sight-sound barriers on edge of end covers opposite of door swing. Remove existing end cover by first removing top trim which lifts straight up. Back off socket head screw until assembly moves approximately 1/2". This disengages cover from inner upright tabs, now lift end cover up and away from panel. NOTE: Place one sight-sound barrier on both end covers. Use same steps for both end covers. Set Screw Flush With Upright To Engage Cover 3. Place new end cover onto panel, lift end cover so that all slots intersect with inner upright tabs. Exert pressure downward to interlock. To complete interlock, tighten socket head screw until top of end cover is level with top of upright. NOTE: When using E9000 panels in an in-line application you will need to modify the base trim, on the hinge side, by removing a 5/16" x 2" piece as shown to create a clearance for the hinge. Then deburr. 4. Install latch plate onto proper end cover with (2) #6 x 3/8" flat head screws and install (2) hinges onto proper end cover, use (2) #10 x 1/2" flat head screws for each hinge. Pin 5. Assemble cams and pin. NOTE: s are identical except for being made of different materials, make sure to use one of each for each hinge. 6. Insert cams and pin assembly between the door hinges and end cover hinges. Hang panel door, making sure that it is level and flush with top trim of the hinged panel and recessed into the side of panel. If it is not, the door is upside down. Remove and re-install correctly. Adjust latch plate with shims if necessary. Place cap plugs into ends of hinges after installation is complete. NOTE: For cleaning instruction see Directions for Series 9000 Panel Basic (939500933).
