Open the hood and apply masking tape to the bumper cover around the upper and lower grilles and to the Scion emblem to protect the finish.. Remove the plastic push fasteners and remove the radiator support panel cover (not shown). 3 4 5. Remove the three (3) plastic push fasteners and the two (2) 10mm hex bolts retaining the top of the factory grille (save for reinstallation).. Reach behind the factory grille and push down on the lower mounting tabs and pull the factory grille forward to release it from the bumper cover.. Align the mesh sections and the surround over the factory grille, making sure the studs fit through the existing holes in the grille. Turn the grille over and install a small black plastic washer and a #8-32 ESNA half nut onto the outer four (4) mounting studs and tighten until snug. DO NOT OVER- TIGHTEN or you will indent the mesh surround at the stud locations!
6 7 A A B B 7. Install a large black plastic washer and a #8-32 ESNA half nut onto the inner two (2) mounting studs and tighten until snug. DO NOT OVER- TIGHTEN or you will indent the mesh surround at the stud locations! Reinstall the assembled upper grille by clipping the lower edge into the bumper cover and reinstalling the two (2) 10mm hex bolts and the three (3) plastic push fasteners.. Raise the vehicle and remove the phillips screws (A) and the 10mm hex bolts (B) and remove the center lower block off pan from the vehicle. 9 10 11 8. Cut out the template from the last page of this instruction manual and align it into the the simulated brake duct openings and mark the hole locations using an awl or similar pointed tool.. Carefully drill through the marks made in the previous step with a 5/16 drill bit. Align the mesh sections and the frames, making sure the studs pass through the holes drilled in the previous step. Pull down the lower panel for hardware installation access and install a large black washer and a #8-32 ESNA half nit onto each stud and tighten until snug. 2 Copyright 2008 by E&G Classics, Inc.
13 12 15 14. Trim the closed ends from the five (5) #8-32 vinyl caps and install them over the five (5) lower mounting studs (as shown).. From underneath the vehicle, install the supplied black plastic washers and #8-32 ESNA half nuts onto each of the top upper mounting studs and tighten until snug.. Install the supplied lower mounting tabs onto the studs on the bottom of the lower grille and tighten until snug.. Carefully remove the masking tape, peeling it back over itself to minimize tape breakage. You can shift the grille up and down and side to side for extra clearance when removing the tape. Once the tape is removed, finish tightening the lower hardware.. Reinstall the lower block off pan (not shown). 17 19. Reinstall the factory radiator support panel cover using the factory push fasteners. : Remove the factory license plate bracket lower mounting tabs from the bracket (see crosshatched areas). : Reuse the factory upper mounting screws to reinstall. 3 Copyright 2008 by E&G Classics, Inc.
E&G Classics, Inc. warrants its chrome parts and products to be free from defects in ma te ri al, workmanship or finish for Thirty-Six (36) months from the date of shipment by E&G. This warranty is limited to the repair or replacement, at E&G Classics option, of the defective part or product. 1.) Present your E&G unit to an authorized distributor in your area with proof of purchase. 2.) If no distributor is available, contact E&G Classics (address below) for authorization to return unit. 3.) Returns - All unauthorized returns will be refused. Merchandise approved by E&G for return must have been purchased within the Thirty-Six (36) months. All returns require an authorization number obtained from E&G and the actual return must be accompanied by the written authorization form filled out completely. All merchandise must be inspected upon receipt and shortages reported within 48 hours. All merchandise must be in a resalable condition. Merchandise must be packed carefully in the original packing. If original packing is no longer usable, repack item(s) comparable to original manner. All returns are subject to a 25% handling charge. Special order items are not returnable. Defective merchandise must have an explanation of the problem. No credit will be issued unless invoice number and date of purchase has been supplied. Manufacturer shall be sole judge of defects in a product. 4.) UPS accounts - All returns must be prepaid. Do not send return shipments freight collect. Once E&G has made its decision and it is a claim against our warranty policy, E&G will credit incoming freight on damaged parts. 5.)
