What a great way to spend Saturday morning...congratulations to the new Master Masons!
Home Improvement Your Second Home Brothers, this year we have dedicated ourselves to the improvement of our lodge and have made significant progress. We are now transitioning from the outside to the inside as we strive to improve our 65 year old building. Our current projects are remodeling our woman s restroom and renovating our dining room. Brother Bill Dunning has completed the wall expansion in the bathroom and it is ready for mud. Worshipful Tom Carter and SW Mike McCullough installed 14 cases (112 tiles) of ceiling tiles in the ceiling of the dining room. These 14 cases were generously provided by our brother Junior Deacon Tracy Martin and Worshipful Carter generously provided the spray paint to paint the lattice work. Everyone knows that money is tight and although we have been aggressive in giving our brothers a better lodge to meet in, we still need to be in the black on our budget this year. Anyone who would like to donate to this cause please contact Worshipful Carter. MASON OF THE MONTH New Mower Donated! In Memory of Bro. Bill Padelford Last month our riding lawn mower that we had been piecing together for years finally went beyond repair. For the past several years our recently deceased brother William Padelford had been mowing our lawn and picking up around our property. Being a mason you would not know that brother Padelford was a prominent lawyer in town. Knowing our budget did not have any money for this expense we called a colleague of Brother Padelford s. Leonard and Barbara McCue from Q Auto and Injury Attorneys in Bradenton. I expressed our needs to them and they were kind enough to write a check for our new 19 hp lawn tractor in memory of Brother Padelford. They do not understand how much this helps us, we now have people wanting to mow the yard and a mower that starts every week. This reminds me that there are still a lot of good people out there and we thank them deeply for the gift. At our first stated meeting in August, Brother David Finkelstein (Liberty Lodge No. 412) was awarded Manatee No. 31 F&AM s Mason of the Month Award for August. Brother Finkelstein was selected for this honor because of his continued support of Manatee No. 31 s degree teams. His excellent degree lectures bring each degree into clear focus. Congratulations Brother David! Tom Carter Worshipful Master
