Traffic Generation We ve built our authority site our squeeze page, and we may or may not have created a niche site, if you wanted to go that way. All of these traffic sources that I m going to get into are good for all three of those different site types. I want to primarily focus, and I want to make sure you understand that we want to get people on our e-mail list. We want to get people opting into that pop up that we set up for our authority site, we want to get people opting in through that squeeze page; we want people on our e-mail list. Even if you have just awesome content, and it s sticky content, people are bookmarking your site and they re coming back from time to time, I promise you that if you build your e-mail list you can make is snowball, you can make that traffic multiple very quickly. Even much quicker than people bookmarking your site and just naturally having people liking it, it will multiply. If you have good quality content and people are bookmarking it and liking it, that s just going to make it even better. It s going to allow it to snowball even quicker, so focus on getting people on that e-mail list. I can t over emphasize that enough. So focus on the e-mail list, but now we need to get traffic. Remember, even if you only get five visitors to your website a day, if you can just get two of those too opt in, that s two new subscribers every day; that s 10 new subscribers every five days. Now do the math and you can see that you can very quickly have a few hundred, 500, 1,000, 2,000 people and then you re sending them a new e-mail every time you have a new blog post, so I m sure you can imagine how quickly that traffic can snowball and multiply over time. Even if you can just get 10, 20, 30 regular visitors to your website using these methods, it will snowball. Depending on how long you ve been in internet marketing, you ve probably already heard of most of these methods, if not all of them, but you really can t overlook them. They drive traffic. So we ve going to get into each one of them that have worked for us and talk about a few details that you may or may not have thought about that work for us. Remember that even if you can only get a couple of your visitors a day to opt in to your list, you re doing very well because that s going to multiple. Because 1

every time you publish a new blog post, you re going to send it out to your e- mail list and that s very important. And those links are actually content, that s value. That s not a promo, that s value. That s giving them information. So every one of those blog posts is giving them information, it s feeding that list and it s helping you out at the same time. So you give them blog posts and then every two, three, or four blog posts that you send out, which is good quality, no-pitch content, then you re going to send out some kind of a promo, promoting some kind of a product in that niche to your e-mail list. And over time, that s really going to snowball. You re going to be able to do promos and have instant money, money on demand selling affiliate products, selling your own products possibly, if you write e- books; it all depends on the niche you re in. You can send out promos. Sign-up to good affiliate programs and start promoting products that you really like and enjoy. You can make instant money, literally in a click of a button, and start making money. I ve been doing it for 10 years, and believe me it works. So that s what you want to focus on, this traffic is basically traffic that your primary hope is to get them on that e-mail list. You want to look at those opt in rates and see what the percentage is. If you can get it up, even if it s just 5 or 10% of your website traffic opting in, that s a pretty good opt in rate, and that s going to snowball and increase your website visitors over time. Don t do this expecting to get hundreds and thousands of visitors every day. It s probably not going to happen, although it is very possible. But just those few visitors can really, really result in a lot of future visitors. So how do we do it? First off, every new blog post we publish and we want to try to publish one new blog post every few days, if possible. If that s not possible, then you want to try to do at least once a week. Set that as your goal. One new good, quality content blog post every week, once a week. Set that as your goal and if you can get even more than that, great. Every single one of these pieces of content is link bait and traffic bait. This content is what is really going to bring in your traffic and your links, so the more you can do the more traffic, the more links, and the more opt ins you re going to get and the larger your list is going to be and the quicker your success is going to come. 2

Make sure you re publishing good content. If you re not publishing new content then don t expect for your site to become authoritative anytime soon, so publishing new content is very, very important. Every time I publish a new blog post, I m going to send it out to my e-mail list. Obviously, since this is a brand new site I m going to wait until I have at least 10 or 20 people on my list, then I m going to start sending it out every time I have a new blog post. So that s Step 1. After a publish a new blog post, I log into Get Response, AWeber, or whatever your e-mail marketing client is, and I m going to send out an e-mail the let them know, Hey, new blog post, and have a quick snippet in the subject of what it s about. A quick, to the point snippet in the subject about what it s about, and then say, Hey, I just published a new blog post. I just wanted to let you know. Then have a sentence or two about what it is, give them the link short and sweet and get them to that blog post. Obviously, this is after you start to get some traffic, but that is one of the steps, so I want to get that in there. Second, I always publish my new blog posts to the top social bookmarking sites. Now I know social bookmarking sites is always intertwined with this spammy type of backlinks, but social bookmarking sites are not spam, unless you submit to spammy social bookmarking sites. As long as they re good social bookmarking sites, not only are they good links, they re also good traffic generators, and I know that first hand. It really depends on the niche. There are some niches where I can submit my new blog post to the top social bookmarking sites Newsvine, Reddit, Stumble Upon, etc., and there are several others, and I ll get I mean, I ve had hundreds and hundreds of almost instant visitors from those site to a brand new site, brand new blog posts, and I can do that every single time in some niches. But in other niches I get very little traffic. You just have to do it and find out. Even if you don t get much traffic, those are good links and that s showing Google and again, we re not focusing on Google, but we have that in the back of our mind. We want to have a good foundation or Google and that s showing them over time that we re participating in the conversation, even if we re not getting a lot of traffic to the site. They re seeing the links out there, they re seeing the keywords associated with them, and that s a good thing. 3

One thing to keep in mind when submitting to these sites is don t over optimize your keyword. Just use a variation. Don t worry about the keyword and the subject, worry about the visitor. Because overall, our primary objective is to get traffic from it, so think of a short, catchy, to the point headline for these a title so people will actually click and be interested in it. That s very important. I m not going to get into actually posting to each one of these. It s very straightforward, you just sign up. You know, Stumble Upon, Newsvine, and Reddit. You can find several other popular social bookmarking sites out there. You can just go there, sign up for a free account and just submit your link to each one. Make sure you re not posting several links a day. You can very quickly and easily get your account banned. Another thing is, make sure you mix in links from other websites, because if you re always submitting links for your website, some of these sites have members who are just trolls and there to clean things up and they will have your account deleted. So be careful that you re not only posting links from your site. Make sure you re posting some good authoritative websites mixed in with your site. Every time I publish, I ll also publish a link from another site. That way, I never publish my own link from my own site more than once in a row. So it s mine and then somebody else s, mine then somebody else s. Then from time to time, I ll publish a couple from somebody else at the same time. That s more natural looking and that will keep your account safe. We actually had a Wordpress plug-in developed called Post Amplifier that does this for you; it automatically publishes to them. That s a paid plug-in, it s totally optional. But if you can find a good plug-in like that, it will really just help wipeout all that time, so you don t have to spend anytime do it. That s what I do now, so I don t even go into each one of the websites to publish it, it s just automatic and whenever I publish the blog post it automatically goes out to those sites. Whether you have a plug-in like that or not, it doesn t matter. You can go out and do it, just set it like clockwork, as soon as I publish a new blog post, it goes out to the social bookmarking sites and out to my list once you have your list starting to bring opt ins in and you have people on your list, that s number one. Number two is always submit to social bookmarking sites. 4

So just make that your plan. Every time you have a new blog post you do those things. Next is forums. Discussion forums really do have a lot of traffic potential, and again, I know I sound like a broken record, but it really depends on your niche. You re just going to have to go out and find a few, post to them and see what works and what doesn t work. See where you get traffic and where you don t. For the internet marketing niche, the Warrior Forum is an excellent example. I remember back when I first started in internet marketing, I got a lot of my traffic from the Warrior Forum. I got a lot of opt ins, I built my list and that actually really helped me launch my own internet marketing business, in general. That s just one example. There are all kinds of forums and niches. I mean internet marketing is a niche, just like woodworking is a niche. So I went to Google and I just typed in Woodworking forums, and I found this one right here. There s all kinds of them. This is just one of many that are out there. If you scroll down you ll see all these threads and posts, 159,000 posts. But the most important thing is you re looking at the last post. You can see the last post, today, today, today, yesterday, today, yesterday Today is all over the place. You can see there s a bunch of users online right now at this very moment, so this is an active forum. This is a treasure trove of people in your niche. This is the exact demographic, the exact people who you want to be on your website, so it s a really good idea to be partaking in that conversation. So I ve gone ahead and created an account on this discussion forum, and as you can see, I have woodesigner as my username. What I m going to do is just look through here and start posting posts. Now some discussion forums won t allow signatures for you to post your link in your signature, but some will. Even if they don t allow it, that s fine. You can still drop a link from time to time. And the same thing for social bookmarks. Make sure you re not only post links to your own website, and make sure you re a natural user and you re not just in there posting links all the time and just posting little one line messages. It s obvious. These people see people who do that all the time and you just get deleted right away. 5

Just be natural, take part in the conversation and you can be very, very effective. In many cases, you can be much more effective going that route than any other way. So just get in here and be a part of the conversation. It s really going to help and it s really going to be effective. I m going to go ahead and start off. So I ve already created my account, I ve already filled out my profile. Make sure you fill out your profile, and I ll go ahead and click on this to show you. So About Me, I have just a little line here. This is natural stuff, a few interests. Don t put internet marketer in your occupation; that s probably not a good idea, unless you re in the internet marketing niche. Then I have my signature. I went ahead and added a link, and we ll see. I might get away with it and I might not. In many cases, you will, because there are a lot of people who have websites. Even individuals who are not specifically internet marketers who have websites, so many times you ll get away with it. Especially if you re not looking like a marketer or a spammer, you ll be fine. Whenever you re adding these links, these are followed links. Again, in the back of our mind, we want to be thinking about SEO and Google. So remember the anchor text needs to be high for versions or your URL and your brand name. That s what I ve done here, I have my brand and the URL partial. I have that in my signature, so that will show up every time I post. So now let s go back to the forum and we ll find a thread to post on. We re just going through, and again it depends on your niche and your knowledge, what you want to talk about. Let s click on Design and Plans. We ll just scroll down here and see if there s anything we can find that we can comment on. Whenever you re doing this, you want to look for popular threads, new threads. This was just published today and it already has 10 replies, 154 views, so that would be a good one. It s not really a good topic for me to comment on though, so we re just going to kind of go down here and look for something where I can mention a suggestion or ask for suggestions. Here s one right here: Need help deciding on next small project So go through and read the post. At least give it a good skimming just so you ll have an idea of what it s about and then just comment on the actual post, then you can add in something of your own. 6

I went through and clicked that. It s a nice little mirrored cabinet thing that he made and I m going to comment on that. So I m just going to post a quick reply. I just posted a natural post here. This is just something here in a discussion forum. I m not promoting anything, I m not saying anything in a weird language that doesn t make any sense, I m just replying to the comment. I m going to submit that reply, then I m just going to go through and start doing that as much as possible. Then after I get a few on there, I will publish some of my own. And it does look like my signature is perfectly fine, so that is a straight do follow link that is going to help me with the search engines, and it s also going to help me get some traffic. So people are going to see that, click on that. I ll just be active in this forum. I ll find a couple other active heavy forums that have a lot of traffic and a lot of recent posts and I m just going to do that over and over. Just set aside a certain amount of time every day, every week or however your schedule looks, to where you just go in and you do this all the time. You set aside however many minutes, however much time that you have; maybe even a couple of hours would be excellent, and just go out and participate in the conversation. It s really going to help you in Google too, just seeing that you re participating in the conversations. These social networks, social bookmarking sites, discussion forums, and they re also seeing your link, they re seeing different variations of your URL and your brand name. It s really going to help you in the search engines and it s going to also drive traffic. Remember, you only need a handful of regular visitors to really start to snowball those opt ins, which will in turn help snowball your traffic to all of your new posts. So the more content you can create, the more links and participation you can do out there on the web, the better. That s really all there is to it to forums. There are so many discussion forums and discussion forums are one thing that have really stuck over the years. With all the new things, things going away and things coming about, social sites, you know Facebook, Twitter and everything being huge and other things, discussion forums really stand true. Because it s a tight close-knit community and people really like that. People really gravitate to that. So just go to Google, type in your keyword, a variation of your keyword, or your general overall niche and then whatever forum. Gardening forum, 7

woodworking forum, whatever it is, or discussion forum. Community works too, and I ve already done a few searches and found several others where I ll be doing this at. Just do that, set up your account. The profile link is good too, that s a good link on the authority site. It s a profile link, but they do help, still, especially if you re using good anchor text. That will be good for the search engines as well. So set aside a certain amount of time and just make sure you do that. Then another good traffic source is Facebook Groups. As you can see here, I have a whole big list of them here and I m already a member of this one and several others. First off, you need to be using your primary Facebook account. You can t to go these groups and request to join them as your page. So we ve created our page. We have WooDesigner as our Facebook page. We cannot use Facebook as that page when we re going through these groups and participating. If you don t want to use your Facebook page to participate in these groups, then you can just create a separate Facebook account for this and you ll just use that as your brand, as your pen name, or your actual name, it doesn t matter. Once you re logged into Facebook, if you just do a search up here for your primary niche. So in this case, it s woodworking, it s going to show you different pages, etc. and at the bottom, it will show Find All Groups. I already clicked that and this is what you see. It just lists all the groups that fall under Woodworking, and there s a whole lot of them. As you can see here, I ve already joined a lot of them and I ve already sent a request to many of this. I just did this a few hours ago and I ve already been approved at a lot of them. You can just see as I scroll, how many of them say joined, I m already a member of a lot of these groups and that s a whole lot of groups. As we re doing this video, you ll probably see a few more pop up here saying that I ve been approved. So I just went through and requested approval at every single one of these. If you scroll down there s more, and if you scroll down there s more, and if you scroll down there s more. There are a lot of groups. I just went through every single one of them and requested to be a member. 8

Now we re not going to be posting every single new blog post. You could, you just have to be careful because there s a lot of people who are members of multiple groups in a tight niche. If they start to see you posting the same thing in every one, especially when you re adding a link to your site, and they see that site every time from you, they ll start to get suspicious and you might get banned from those groups. So again, the same with the forums and social bookmarking sites, the same thing applies here; make sure it s natural. Make sure you re going in, you re adding some good comments and some good feedback and you re participating in the conversation. It can t be a one-way conversation. Go in and reply to comments, go in and post just text with no links. Post links from other sites from time to time and then mix in links to your new blog posts. So in between the times when you re publishing new blog posts, you should be taking part in these Facebook Groups, the social bookmarking sites, and the discussion forums. That doesn t mean that you have to be spending all kinds of time doing it, just go in and make sure you publish a link from another authoritative site in your niche to the social bookmarking sites for one day when you re not publishing a new blog post. Go into the Facebook Groups, the most popular ones and do the same thing. Just write out some kind of a status update in the group, just text. Go into the discussion forums and just create a new thread or comment on something. That only takes a minute or two for each one and you can have that done in 5 or 10 minutes and it really does help. It keeps your account safe and helps you look natural. It helps build up your legitimacy and helps you just participate in the conversation. Posting links everywhere and that s all you do, that s not really participating in the conversation and it s going to get you in trouble. So with that in mind, once you are approved for some of these groups, you just want to go through and kind of pick out some of the groups that have a higher number of members. There are in the thousands and there s several in the thousands. Even some of them with just a few hundred can really generate traffic, but we re going to go into a few of them with the thousands. We ll just click here and we re going to start off by just posting and update. Just text, we re not going to add a link. I ve already written this out over here and I m going to go ahead and publish it here. Paste it here - Hello, I m 9

Thanks So I m going to go ahead and post that, and that s kind of just getting my foot in the door. Like they say, the first impressions are important and that s what people remember. So you want to make a good first impression so they don t think you re a spammer or a marketer in general, and go from there. So we ve posted that and we ll just go back and do the same thing. You might want to mix up your message. Don t be posting the exact same thing in all of the groups because many of the people, like I said, will be in other groups. Whenever you re passionate about something and you join a Facebook group about it, many times you ll join several of them. So if the same people start to see the same person in all these groups posting the same thing, that s going to raise a red flag. So just mix it up a little. Maybe introduce yourself or whatever, and then maybe even later on that day just don t get carried away with it you can publish a link to one of your blog posts. Then as time goes on, you re just going to publish every one of your new blog posts. You re not going to go back and repost all of your old blog posts, just go through and every time you publish a new blog post you re going to come to these popular groups, the ones that actually get interaction. You ll get likes, comments, etc., and just hold onto those. Now if you post to some groups and you just don t get any action then you might want to drop that one and go on and try another one. There s just so many groups in most niches that you ll find a lot of groups. And this is the same with the social bookmarking sites. Really depending on your niche, we ve had niches where we get a lot of traffic from these, and then we ve had other niches where we don t get very much. It really depends on the niche, but there s a lot of traffic potential there. And remember, again, all you need is just a handful of visitors every day to result in a snowball of traffic over time as they opt in to that e-mail list and you re able to e-mail them every time you have a new blog post. Answer sites and I m not going to get into this, because this isn t something we do a whole lot, but we have done it. We even did a pretty large-scale test not long ago, with specifically Yahoo Answers, but Quora.com is another big 10

one and there are several others out there. Yahoo Answers though, we had few guys solely working on Yahoo Answers all day, every day for several weeks and we got quite a bit of traffic from it. That s another thing that s niche specific, depending on the niche. I know I m a broken record, but it really is niche specific, all these sources. Some are good for one niche and not good for another and vice-versa. But Yahoo Answers really is a good traffic generation source. It can really take some time, though to built it up. You have to answer so many questions before you have enough points to even post a link and then from there, you want to try to get nominated for the best answer. You can vote for your own answer for Best Answers, and you should. I highly recommend you do. So you go back in and nominate your answers as the best answer, because a lot of the times, a lot of people won t even nominate the best answer, so you ll get a lot of best answers just going in and nominating your own on Yahoo Answers. Whenever you have the best answer you can really get a lot of traffic, if you put your URL as the traffic source. But again, the same thing with all of these; with Yahoo Answers, you don t always want to be including a link to your site for the source on every one of your answers. Make sure you re adding in other sources and every now and then, just don t add a source at all; just use some text. Common knowledge, studying it, or whatever, so just make it natural. Just these traffic sources right here, these few really can generate enough traffic to snowball your e-mail list and snowball your overall traffic. Are there more? Yeah, there s traffic sources all over the place. Just do Google searches. There s an approval for one of my groups. I knew that would happen; they ve been coming in since I started applying. But just go out and Google for your niche, community, woodworking community, woodworking forum There s all different kinds of sites out there where you can participate in the conversation. You can use ScrapeBox to find high quality blogs that have page rank on the actual blog posts and then you can leave a comment on it. Just don t get into the spammy ones that have thousands of spam comments. You can find legitimate blog posts that have a page rank to where you can leave a link to your site, for SEO purposes. And in some cases, you can get some traffic from those. 11

There are a lot of different traffic generation sources, but these have really worked out for us. They work if you go through and do them, actually take part in the conversation, and you can really drive a lot of traffic using them. So get into the Facebook groups and be a part of the conversation. Twitter is the same thing. Go into Twitter, be a part of the conversation. Go into the discussion forums and be a part of the conversation. Drop your links naturally, while being a part of the conversation. Just like everyone else, you ll be perfectly safe going that route. And just remember, it only takes a few opt ins a day to snowball that traffic, and that s what it s all about. So that s it for traffic generation. But when gone into the core of the Money Site Trainer System. It really works. There are some basic things and some maybe not so basic for you, depending on your knowledge. I ve done this so many times, created several different authoritative websites. It s the same general process how most authoritative websites have started, aside from the big enterprises that had millions of dollars to throw into it. But it works, and if you have a marketing budget, you could also put some money into Facebook Ads to grow your Facebook following. Then that Facebook following you keep updated, and at the same time and I ve done this many times, as well, you have that continual increase in Facebook likes. In the same sense as the e-mail list, it drives traffic to every blog post, you re also sending your new blog post to your Facebook following, which you have new people liking it every single day, and you can get likes for 8, 9, 10 centers per like, if you have a good ad. If you have maybe $100, 200, or 300 every month to put into Facebook ads, that can be worth it too. Just give it a shot, test it out, and again it depends on your niche as far as the conversion and what you re going to be paying per like. But if you can get it down to 10 or 15 cents per like, it s well worth it. You ll constantly be growing that Facebook community and those people will be hungry to see your new blog posts. 12

So a mix of that along with your e-mail list can really workout very well. But that s an optional thing, if you do have a little bit of money to invest into it, that s a really good option for that. Whether you have a budget or not, you can start driving traffic just by using these traffic methods that I ve gone into; the forums, the Facebook groups, etc., it can really, really work. Just concentrate on getting just a few visitors per day onto that list. That e-mail list is really where it s at. I hope that s been helpful.
