CrystalPro is a computer-controlled microscope with top quality optics. CrystalPro has been optimised for visualising protein crystallography experiments. Its proprietary illumination system utilises both an aperture diaphragm and a variable condenser, to ensure the highest image contrast and quality, and provides the following benefits: High quality images due to the unique, high quality optics - NO manipulation of the image to enhance the quality Superb depth of focus from top to bottom of the drop Almost no side wall refraction (so no dark rings) Visualisation of drops unaffected by condensation Less than 4 minutes to image, reference and store a 96-well plate CrystalLIMS software stores and retrieves experiments easily ColorMetric scoring with CrystalLIMS facilitates scoring, comparing experiments and identifying trends Remote access to data from PCs, either via a network connection or the internet. MOLECULAR DIMENSIONS

Removes the dark rings caused by side wall refraction. Enables crystals to be visualised through condensation. Allows visualisation of crystals as small as 3µm. CrystalLIMS, a protein crystallography Laboratory Information Management System, controls CrystalPro, records all experimental data (including notes on diffraction data), schedules scan times and facilitates clear and easy review of plates. CrystalLIMS uses ColorMetric Scoring for quick and easy scoring of crystal growth experiments. ColorMetric Scoring gives you: at-a-glance review of a plate easy identification of trends using the High Score Map. tracking of experimental development with chronological thumbnail images CrystalLIMS allows multiple user accounts to be set up (each with password protection and user privilege options). Data can be shared between selected users. CrystalLIMS can be accessed remotely via a local area network Experimental data can also be accessed via an Internet connection, without the need to install or download software CrystalLIMS will even e-mail you to tell you your plate has been scanned! Provides a large depth of focus - no need for Z-slicing to visualise the whole drop. Eliminates the need for image enhancement to compensate for poor optics. CrystalPro comes complete with a database of commercially available crystallisation screens, allowing plate conditions to be defined at the click of a button. The database includes a comprehensive list of single reagents, allowing simple construction and storing of user defined screens. Screen conditions can be imported from an upstream liquid handler. CrystalPro has communication ports available for liquid dispensers and robotic handlers. Simple and flexible definition of experiment conditions Automatic calculation of pipetting volumes for crystallisation screen construction, with display on the dedicated monitor, or export to a liquid-handling device Modular system that can be used as a stand-alone system or integrated into larger systems, as and when required. Too many plates, not enough time to look at them properly! CrystalPro changes that.

Many visualisation systems have poor quality images, or use image processing to compensate for poor optical performance - CrystalPro produces high quality images and data by design. Standard Specifications CrystalPro is available as either an upright or inverted microscope depending on your requirements. The entire system (microscope, personal computer, monitor, light source, keyboard & mouse) occupies a table top area of approximately 60cm deep by 100cm wide with a total weight of approximately 45kg. Control PC Current generation PC running current version of Microsoft Windows configured to control CrystalPro supplied with flat screen monitor. Microscope System constructed from aluminium and designed to withstand the rigours of production level use. Stepper motor controlled stage travel - 125mm x 85mm. Specifications - 2.5µm positioning resolution, <5µm position repeatability error, <15µm absolute positional error over the full travel range. Application-specific top plate. Suitable for use in environments of 4 to 40 C with 5 to 95% relative humidity (non-condensing). Description Dimensions mm (w x d x h) Weight kg Inverted CrystalPro 360 x 430 x 480 23 Upright CrystalPro 500 x 500 x 760 36 Illumination Cold light illumination source 150-Watt computer-controlled, fibre-optic light source, 3200 K colour temperature. Fibre light guide, integral IR filter, no significant light transmission below 390 nm. Visualisation View areas from 4 x 3mm down to 0.97 x 0.72mm with continuous zoom. Sub 1µm resolution for visualisation of edges down to 3µm in length. Numerical aperture (optics) 0.275. Image file format bitmap or JPEG. Image size No more than 5.63MB (Bitmap) or 0.29MB (JPEG). The new CrystalLIMS software makes CrystalPro one of the most advanced systems on the market. MOLECULAR DIMENSIONS

Monitor experiments at your own desk, even if CrystalPro is in the cold room. Additional Options Personal computer extras Second hard drive: 250GB Memory upgrade: 2048MB DVD-RW+CD-RW - Records digital data on DVD's and CD's. (CD holds about 700MB of data, a double-sided/double-layered DVD holds about 15.9GB) Barcode label reader Automatically reads 8-digit barcode labels mounted on the top or side edge of plate outside Column 1 at Rows H thru D. Label requirements: maximum width 30mm, minimum bar width 0.173mm. Multi-load plate option (CrystalPro XT) Extended stage to hold six 128 x 86mm plates, or two 165 x 115mm plates. External Dimensions - Base is 33cm Wide x 45cm Deep x 48cm High. During scanning, the stage plate will extend 28cm on either side of the base and 14cm to the front. Total height is 30cm, total weight is 23Kg. Note: Bar code label reader is included as standard with this option. Polarisation Standard - Motor-controlled polariser, transmission 32%, fixed Analyzer. Note: Polarisation should be carefully considered before ordering as most microplates depolarise the light thus significantly reducing the effectiveness of this illumination technique. CrystalPro is manufactured by TriTek Corp. (Virginia, USA), designers of next generation computer video microscopes for specialist applications.
