/0-1' ;)._ D~ n~~~trn Pl-321 G-SERIES MECHANICAL SHEARS?i-V/ Now, with the CINCINNATI "G"-Series, you can have CINCINNATI quality, reliability, prod uctivity and versatility in a mechanical shear which can be customized to your particular needs without having to pay for features you don't use. CINCINNATI G-Series shears have the superior shearing capability expected of standard CINCINNATI shears, with slitting and notching capability offered as one of many options.

STANDARD FEATURES FOR PRODUCTIVITY, RELIABILITY, ACCURACY AND PART QUALITY Among the standard design features wn r:n,navejma CINCINNATI mechanical shears the C>~ :u'\rt.:~rr~ industry are front mounted, power operated Automatic multiple line lubrication for decreased maintenance and long IHe. Hardened and Ground Guides for precision ram travel and long life.

OPTIONS TO IMPROVE PRODUCTIVITY Probes for Automatic Cycling Probes mounted in the back gage angle can reduce rejects and increase productivity. The probes sense when the workpiece is in the correct position and actuate the shearing cycle. Faster Stroke Rate Stroke rate for G-Series shears wh ich normally operate at strokes per minute can be increased up to 0 strokes per minute, and rate for shears which normally operate at strokes per minute can be increased up to 80 strokes. Increased stroking rate can mean increased productivity for you. Increased Cuts Per Minute Higher horsepower motors and motors of the continuous duty type can be installed to meet the requirement for increased cuts per minute. A CINCINNATI salesman can help size the correct. motor for your needs, based on material th ickness, length, material type and back piece depth. Easier Material Handling Add a conveyor to automatically move cut pieces from behind the shear, separate the scrap, and stack the good pieces. A CINC INNATI conveyor can greatly improve the productivity and profit of your CINCINNATI G-Series shear. Slitting and Notching Capability Shears with deeper throat and ve rtical ram adjustment are available for slitting and notching. Additional options to improve the productivity of your G-Series shear inc lude a light beam shearing gage, to take the squint and guess out of scribed line shearing, special holddown conf igur ations and clearances to accommodate thicker materials or narrow strips, ball transfers in the table to speed the hand ling of heavy materials, and many others which we can add to customize your shear. Light Beam Shearing Gage Ball Transfers

OPTIONS TO IMPROVE ACCURACY AND PART QUALITY Magnetic Sheet Supports These supports minimize back piece sagging when shearing light ferrous material. They improve gaging accuracy and extend the effective range of the back gage probe option. Magnetic Sheet Supports. (Awareness barrier removed for illustration purposes only) ----------1 Cushion Clamp Holddowns This holddown system minimizes marking of soft and critical surface materials. Holddowns can be operated independently of the shear action. Standard holddown operation can be readily selected. Vernier Pin Gage With a pin gage you can shear material with critical hole-to-sheared-edge accuracy without accumulating gage or setup error. The vernier pin gage is only one of numerous options which CINCINNATI can provide for processing pre-punched multiples. Power-Operated Stops and Gages Front gages and squaring arm stops can be adjusted by push-button, just like the power-operated back gage, from a panel on the front of the shear. Readouts are available for fract ional, decimal, or metric graduations..-----~---------~----------- --AU T O Pre-Select Gage Positioning Pre-select gage positioners are available to position power operated gages with micrometer accuracy and control. The desired gage position can be punched in by way of keyboard input and the gage positioned by a single push of a button. Pre-select will provide more dependable accuracy as well as higher overall productivity. GAGE CONTROL Preselect Back Gage Metric Graduation Accuracy of the sheared blank can be improved and the chance of operator error reduced for app li cations requiring the use of metrics. This can be supplied in addition to the fractional graduation, or in place of fractional graduation. Fractional and Metric Graduation

6 ADVANTAGES OF CINCINNATI "G" SERIES MECHANICAL SHEARS 1 Accuracy Cincinnati Shears increase earnings because their accuracy reduces assembly costs and eliminates rejects. It takes a micrometer to detect any variation in the width of a Cincinnati-sheared strip. Operators consistently produce straight and parallel cuts without setting the back gage or squaring arm out of line to compensate for creep. They can cut sheets to size within a few thousandths of the back gage setting, which reads to 1 /s4". Such accuracy does not require special operator skill or manipulation. It is the built-in result of standard Cincinnati features : powerful hydraulic holddowns, low rake to the upper knife, inclined ram, rigid all-steel frame, and many other design refinements. 2 Quality Examine a Cincinnati Shear closely, and you will discover ample evidence of superior quality. The flywheel shaft and drivi ng worm are mounted on heavy duty anti-friction bearings. Special bronze has been selected for bearings for the eccentric shaft, eccentrics, and pitman. Ram slides are bronze lined and gibbed. Steel guides are hardened and ground. In addition, the eccentrics are carbon steel forgings. Oilite bushings are used on treadle levers, clutch levers, and adjusting shafts. Important studs and screws are machined of chrome nickel steel. 3 Dependability Cincinnati Shears are known the world over for their dependability. Steel plate construction makes a Cincinnati practically unbreakable. Frame members are carried directly on their supporting members, and support bearings have large radii to avoid concentrated stresses. No operating loads are carried on welded joints. 4 Speed Operators save many hours of production time every year with the speed of Cincinnati Shears. For example, a Cincinnati %'' x 12' Shear runs strokes a minute. Holddowns release quickly at the bottom of the stroke, so the operator can handle the sheet with no time loss. Rapid gaging and minimum adjustment greatly shorten handling time. The clutch operates without lag. And, most important, different thicknesses can be cut without changing knife clearance. Versatility Cincinnati Shears will cut all varieties of nonferrous as well as ferrous materials. Modified Shears for special applications are readily furnished. 6 Safety All Cincinnati "G" Series Mechanical Shears will conform to the construction standards of the American National Standards Institute B.4 13 safety standards. Each new Cincinnati "G" Series Mechanical Shear is so identified by a compliance tag upon machine completion at our factory. The employer shall be responsible for the proper installation and continued use of point-of-operation guards, devices, or awareness barriers to assure complete operator safety. Fully guarded footswitch and clutch mode selector switch give you and your supervisor full control of your operator's method of operation. Complete instructional manuals for your operator, maintenance personnel and manufacturing supervision are attached to each machine. An additional advantage when buying a Cincinnati Shear is the factory trained field service representatives in over 30 locations throughout the United States and Canada. Cincinnati Knife Straightener The Cincinnati knife straighteners on 12" centers easily correct for variations in knife thickness. Operators can set extremely close knife clearance. Front Controlled Power Back Gage Cincinnati's front controlled power back gage allows the operator to make quick and accurate adjustments without going around to the rear of the machine. Control buttons and indicating dials are built as one unit, convenient to the operator at the front of the machine. A large, easy-to-read counter type dial shows the back gage setting directly in inches and sixty-fourths. The fractional figure appears next to the inch figure. Metrics are optional. A heavy steel frame protects the unit against damage by crane supported work. The cross shaft of the back gage is placed near the ram to prevent damage during material handling. Rugged construction is demonstrated by the steel guides and screws with shock-absorbing springs. Screws are lubricated from an oil reservoir built into the guides. The back gage angle is easily set parallel to the lower knife by calibrated adjusting nuts at the ends of the guides. All Cincinnati shears have a back gage range of or more. Greater back gage range than standard is available at additional cost Cincinnati Non-Float Inclined Ram The Cincinnati inclined ram is a payoff feature with five distinct advantages: 1. It partially offsets the thrust due to shearing action. 2. It presents the corner of the knife to the work, and achieves the effect (with four-edge knives) of a slightly beveled blade. 3. The back gage travels at an angle and moves down and away as the stroke progresses, so work does not tend to bind between the gage and lower knife. 4. It permits the use of knives with straight sides.. It shears the edge perpendicular to the surface of the work. INCUNED UPPER KNIFE LOWER KNIFE The Cincinnati non-float inclined ram maintains an extremely accurate and close knife clearance. The downward and backward pull of the pitman links, and the upward and backward pull of the counterbalances always seat the ram against the large hardened and ground guides on the housings. Full-length bronze gibs insure accurate guiding of the ram stroke.
