Section : The Site 3

Site Location The small village of Allithwaite is located. miles (.9 km) west of Grangeover-Sands in southern Cumbria. Situated to the north of Allithwaite the site comprises a series of garages within an estate of bungalows. To the south of the site along Boarbank Lane and Green Lane there is a mix of semidetached and terraced houses. Existing Site Plan The site currently contains 0 N o garages which are aligned along the southern boundary facing north onto a tarmac hard standing. The northern boundary is formed by a small step up to the road - Templand park- which is primarily delineated by Beech hedging. Vehicular access to the site is currently served by a narrow driveway from Boarbank Lane, between Glen Shiel and N o Boarbank Lane. The planform was developed as part of a set of dwellings that are suitable in size and style for the local vernacular, as well as following simple construction methods with the intention of allowing apprentice tradesmen to gain invaluable relevant experience in their trades. The proposed fenestration and openings reflect the scale of the local vernacular, the properties are finished in render in reference to local character. 0
