Things that will be happening: Basting of raffle quilt Quilt Show business Working on charity quilts, or other items for the quilt show. Organizing quilt blocks for a quilt. Sit and sew. Refreshments: By board members NOTES FROM THE PRESIDENT Happy New Year!!!!!! Just a short and sweet message, been rather busy. Norma Jeane, Marty, Betty Lenz, and Kathryn helped with the piecing. Yes, the raffle quilt is ready to layer. This will be one of those old time quilting bee s. Something for everyone to do. A Lot of planning for the new year. Please make every effort to be there. See you Tuesday Marlyn NOTE: If Marshall schools are not in session because of weather, there will NOT be a quilt meeting. January Birthdays: Kathryn Jones and Linda Clark ANNOUNCEMENTS Donna Rothermich is looking for suggestions for a workshop and a program for February. If you have ideas or want to volunteer, please call her at 660-674-2230 or e-mail her at hamikazequilter@yahoo.com Heartland Quilt Network annual meeting is April 11, 2016 from 10:00 to 2:00. Deadline for the next newsletter is February 25. We will be quilting on the raffle quilt at Bobbie Jo home. Date and time to be announced at the meeting.

CPQG BOARD MEETING NOVEMBER 10, 2015 President Marlyn opened the meeting with Charlene, Gayle, Bobbie Jo, Marty, Anita, Paula, Megan F present. Minutes were read and approved with the correction Kathy found some membership cards in a storage box in the storage unit, we will not have to order any at this time. Marty has a rolling suitcase/cart that she is donating to the guild to use with the Raffle quilt and supplies when we take the quilt to show it at the different venues. Treasures Report-received the last check from Tourism $886.00, she will have a final report in the next newsletter. Old Business: WE STILL NEED A QUILT SHOW CHAIRMAN OR GROUP. A motion was made and approved to have 30 s fabric and style quilt with hand applique, will be hand quilted about queen size exact pattern has not been set. We usually have guild members do the sewing of blocks but because no one stepped up for the QS Chairmanship some of the officers have taken on the responsibility of the Raffle Quilt, and doing most of the work at Marlyn s home, if you wish to help with any of the construction please let Marlyn know all help is welcome and needed. SuAnn will not be renewing her membership so we will need a new web page director, we will miss her. Paula will not be doing the newsletter for 2016. Christmas Luncheon is December 8, guild will provide the meat, Kathy will cook the ham and Christy will cook the turkey everyone else will do potluck. Programs 2016 need 2 more programs and 1 more workshop, ideas are welcome. Christmas- bring a nice gift $15.-20.00 value, either bought or made for the take away game. Karen will type up the membership books for 2016. Betty will order a book in the memory of Charles Jones. Motion to adjourn second and passed. Donna Rothermich-Secretary President Marlyn called the meeting to order. CPQG REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 10, 2015 Amanda talked about how important it is to get your yearly mammograms and to do your monthly self-examinations, she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Marlyn welcomed Megan Fleming, and Dana, Rita s daughter.

CPQG Regular Meeting Minutes continued Minutes were read and approved with the following correction the material was from Betty Phillips not Evans. The Treasurers report was approved as printed in the Newsletter. Programs-The workshop was fun because we found out how easy it was to make a scallop border. The December program is the Christmas Luncheon, Kathy is cooking the ham and Christy the turkey and everyone else will provide a potluck dish. The gift exchange will be a wrapped gift you buy or make with a $15.00-20.00 value to use in the take away game. Sunshine-Kathryn s husband Charlie passed away and Julie had knee surgery. Library-Dorothy has some new books, the Library books are still in Marty s shed, we will be moving the books back to the Church at the January, 2016 meeting. Marty brought some tea and paper products left over from the Quilt Show and storage shed for use with today s refreshments that she and Christy provided. Friendship-Norma Jeane collected hers, and still has some to be done if you want to do more, Tim handed his out. Dixie was chosen for January 2016. Board voted for a 30 s fabric and style quilt for the Raffle quilt, queen size, hand quilted with applique, and the quilting will be done at Bobbie Jo s which usually starts in January if we have the top done in time, the construction of the quilt will be done at Marlyn s home all help will be welcome. Door Prize Winners-Kathryn, Paula, Megan, Amanda. Old Business: WE STILL NEED A 2016 QUILT SHOW CHAIRMAN OR GROUP Kathryn thanked everyone for the thoughts, cards, food, and memorial money in honor of Charlie. New Business: Membership dues of $25.00 is due this month or December to make sure you are listed in the Membership Books which Karen said she would do for 2016. Programs 2016-Donna could use a program or 2 from members or ideas of someone or a quilt shop you think might put on a good program with lots of goodies to bring and sell. Rita Mitchell will do a workshop in the morning of the January 12, 2016, meeting it is on dimensional pinwheels, she will have a supply list at the December meeting or just show up at 9:00 that morning, you can get the supply list from her or contact me and I will get it to you. For the afternoon program it will be a sewing workshop so be sure to bring your machine and sewing supplies and ideas for guild items for the Quilt Show-Bazaar or Silent Auction- or if the Charity group has items that need to be worked on you will be able to do that. Marty sent around a refreshment sign up list for the year Officers will do the January 12 th meeting please be sure to sign up for a month.

Saute onions in margarine; do not brown. Remove from heat and add remaining ingredients. Combine with carrots and pour into a buttered casserole dish. TOPPING: 1 cup herb stuffing mix ½ cup melted margarine Toss together the topping ingredients and place on top of carrot mixture. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 25 minutes.
